Tried reinstalling today.
After a fresh game install, applied the recommended fixes for VR, set my OpenXR to SteamVR. The game launches, switches the view to cockpit and the application stops responding. I used to be able to play correctly a bit after launch, not anymore. I expected the latest patch to fix proper OpenXR (without SteamVR) for WMR headsets but it appears to still be broken. This whole game has been a scam that I can't even get a refund for. Bought it for the announced VR support and played on deck to tie me over and now VR doesn't work for months and it doesn't even work on Steam Deck anymore either. can't even get a refund for this unplayable pile of junk.gu3steezy4 months agoNew Rookie1.4KViews4likes11CommentsVR crashes with Varjo Aero
Ok, looks like no WRC VR soup for me for now. Game crashes with Varjo set to handle OpenXR after the first screen where it's asking if I'd like to play in VR. With SteamVR set to be OpenXR game manages to start, with horrible stutters when turning head, and crashes when I try to start a time trial. In both cases the crash is silent, with no pop-up window messages, simply goes back to Steam. AMD 5900X, 64G RAM, and a 4090. Both DR and RD2 work fine as they used to; so hopefully it's not a problem with my setup. Update: Managed to get it working in SteamVR OpenXR. Horrible stutters when turning head but otherwise it runs, although doesn't look very good. I think disabling the OpenXR Toolkit globally is what did the trick. It still crashes when Varjo Base is set as the OpenXR runtime which is where I'd like it to actually work, as I'm guessing having SteamVR in the middle is the cause of the very bad stutters when turning head.DKay1145 months agoSeasoned Rookie2.9KViews4likes50CommentsOpenXR motion compensation issues...
So I've been struggling trying to get OpenXR motion compensation (OpenXR MC) working with EA WRC. I am using an eRacing Labs motion system, Pimax Crystal and Simhub. With OpenXR MC installed EA WRC exits right after displaying the second splash screen. If I remove OpenXR MC from the PC then EA WRC will start... re-install OpenXR MC and EA WRC is back to not starting. Found a single post on steam that mentioned if you set "overlay_enabled = 0" in the ini file that OpenXR installs (in the directory \Users\*Your_Username*\AppData\Local\OpenXR-MotionCompensation\) then EA WRC will start. Tried that and, sure enough, EA WRC starts and I can use the keyboard shortcuts defined in the OpenXR MC ini file to configure and use motion compensation with EA WRC. Yay! And once you run it once you then have an EA WRC specific ini file in that folder to which I added the: overlay_enabled = 0 and restored overlay_enabled = 1 in the main ini file (for all the other VR games that aren't broken like EA WRC is). I tried to submit a case/bug report to EA around this in hopes it gets fixed (so one can leverage the OpenXR toolkit menu/overlay) before EA totally abandons this title but EA makes it hard (actually impossible from what I can see) to submit a bug report so I'm ranting about this here in the hope that EA sees this and maybe fixes it in a patch (wishful thinking). At least this may help other VR users with motion who are struggling with this as I was.steve_chunk6 months agoRising Newcomer160Views1like0CommentsOpenXR motion compensation not working
I'm using a motion platform controlled by SimHub, which incorporates motion compensation from an OpenXR API layer. Enabling this layer crashes the game to desktop before it starts. Everything else works, only the OpenXR motion compensation layer doesn't. It's an OpenXR API layer, which works flawlessly in all other titles I've tried it in, so this could likely be an issue with the OpenXR-implementation of WRC. Is the game compatible with OpenXR API layers? Using a Meta Quest 2.1.4KViews2likes10CommentsNewest patch completely broke VR (not exaggeratin, it's now actually unplayable)
This newest update completely broke VR. It wasn't great before, but it was at least playable prior to the update, but now everything is completely misaligned and weirdly warped on my right eye. The left still works as it should. WTF man? Did no one playtest this update? VR is now quite litterally unplayable... This needs an immediate fix. Edit* I use the original HTC ViveSolvedCapPeanut7 months agoRising Scout4.9KViews3likes47CommentsNATIVE OPENXR SUPPORT
Good day E.A. It has been some time since my last unanswered question, among many others, who are getting an E.A unanswers for this particular question. Would you please take 5 seconds out of your busy schedule to confirm whether there will be native support for openXR hmds? This question has been circulating since the game was released. I have no idea why you blocked the openxr.dll, though whatever the reason it will never be good enough for those with openxr hmds. At the very least put us out of our misery! Please upvote this thread, maybe then it will get some well-deserved attention. Your truly in good faith. Just posted to the reddit as well but figure its a big enough bug to post here too: I have micro stutters and performance issues at 90hz on VR headset that aren't there at 120hz. There are no changes to the graphics levels (medium) between framerates and I'm using reprojection. There are stutters at 90hz and its butter smooth at 120hz. I'd like to bump the graphics up and run at 90hz if the stutters are fixed. I've found that if I slow down during the stage to a stop then the micro stutters disappear for the rest of the level. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this or experience this before? https://youtu.be/N5WjSkpYkF0 Hello see how I can use wrc vr... if it can help you... On my own, I think I'll stay on on my G9 now because it's not really funny... Maybe when EA Sport do it better as other game.... iracing,... I'm on HP Reverb G2 and game buy on EA Sport, so, don't use Steam to launch. Without dlss, as they said is not playable for me, too low fps... even low graphic setting... So here is my setting with upscaling dlss... and good fps (even low because OBS was working on same time) 2 stages showed on video for exemple / tarmac and dirt ps : sorry for my poor english lol1.1KViews1like6CommentsVR Updates
Hey EA, Are you done with updating VR? It certainly feels that way to me. If not, when will we get the next update and what are you planning on fixing? FYI HP Reverb user, I played most of this game with UEVR and then with your 1st attempt with VR but after that, hardly ever as it's basically unplayable. Now almost a year later and still we're waiting for a proper fix for a good part of the vr community. At the very least give us an update that allows us to use the 1st version if we choose to, when it worked ok or ever allow us to us UEVR so we can at least play the game in VR.a428y0cwhbgk9 months agoNew Novice551Views1like4Comments
