OpenXR motion compensation not working
I'm using a motion platform controlled by SimHub, which incorporates motion compensation from an OpenXR API layer. Enabling this layer crashes the game to desktop before it starts. Everything else works, only the OpenXR motion compensation layer doesn't. It's an OpenXR API layer, which works flawlessly in all other titles I've tried it in, so this could likely be an issue with the OpenXR-implementation of WRC. Is the game compatible with OpenXR API layers? Using a Meta Quest 2.865Views1like8CommentsNative HMD OpenXR
For owners of headsets from Varjo, Pimax, HP and possibly others too their native OpenXR runtimes are not working correctly. Currently the only way for us to get the game running is by switching runtimes and this is sub-optimal for performance. For me using a Pimax Crystal this can result in up to a 20% loss in performance. This also requires a dance of option changes between the different apps I run just to get WRC working and to get everything reset after use. What I would hope is for OpenXR to not be specific to just Steam and Meta. Everything else I run that is OpenXR based works as expected with all OXR runtimes and layers. For what it's worth here are my findings trying to use the native runtime for the Pimax Crystal: The game will start and menus etc in the floating theater show correctly, this actually runs 90fps compared to Steams XR which can be around 70fps and stuttery in this mode, native is far better for these theater modes. When a stage is started the hmd will switch into stereo 3D BUT will flicker between eyes and not react to head position movement with what looks like a window within a window.1.5KViews1like23CommentsVR is now Surprisingly Good !
I was really disappointed in the VR after patch 1.9 however since the most recent 2.1 patch and with some brilliant recent Engine.ini tweaks I found on reddit it is actually really good, maybe not 100% great but imho pretty darn close. For reference Quest 3 via powered Link cable on 4080S gpu with 7800X3D cpu. Also, the physics & motion feels noticibly improved and I can say I think it is now all around a somewhat better experience than Dirt Rally 2 which I still love (& the original ). Great work & congrats to the devs as it inspired me to buy the Season 24 Expansion. Cheers 👍🤠 Hope this is okay to link, the engine.ini from 22 Oct '24 that has transformed the gfx in vr for me. Contrary to the reddit tweaks, I find the regular temporal upscaler gets better fps than DLSS and also have most ingame settings on ultra with AA on medium & postprocessing ultralow. My Q3 res is on 2nd highest at 80hz. It looks great in vr with no hitches or slowdowns. www.reddit.com/r/EASPORTSWRC/s/zUfoM0Z70A update :- the file above has been updated and now DLSS on Auto is actually much better but requires nvidia gpu. amd gpu can use FSR531Views2likes1CommentPosition into the car - VR mode
Hello, I have a question because I can no longer position myself correctly into the car when I use VR mode. I'll try to explain as best I can ... Before, when I got into the car, I adjusted my position by physically moving my playseat and the camera didn't follow me, so I could position myself and validate exactly as I wished. Since yesterday, when I want to do the same thing, the camera always "follows me", i.e. whatever the physical position of my seat, I'm in the same place in the vehicle. I can't, for example, move closer to the steering wheel. It's as if the camera were following me all the time now. I hope that's clear ...I haven't edited any options for a long time. Do you have any idea how to solve this? Thanks for any idea you may have! (@Sokittoya76A maybe you have an idea to solve that, as I see that you have spent a lot of time on the VR setup!)136Views0likes1CommentBlack screen in VR mode
Hi everyone, I’m experiencing an issue with WRC EA in VR mode. After launching the game and confirming I want VR mode, the screen goes black in my Quest 3 headset. Here's what I’ve tried so far: Used both Oculus Link (Air Link and Cable) and Virtual Desktop, with and without SteamVR – the same black screen issue occurs. Tested with different drivers for my video card (RTX 4080 Super). Updated all related software (SteamVR, Oculus software, and Virtual Desktop). Verified the game files through Steam. My PC specs: GPU: RTX 4080 Super VR Headset: Oculus Quest 3 Other VR games work perfectly with my setup. Has anyone else faced this issue with WRC EA in VR mode? Any advice or workarounds would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!248Views0likes1CommentProper VR Update
Hp reverb G2.....Will we ever get a proper vr update at this point? It would be nice if there were some regular dev updates on the matter, keeping us informed or have I missed something? It's been more than a year and I'm getting tired of the checking and the continued waiting game. I enjoyed the game for a short time when the vr worked ok.....But that was a long time ago it seems. Since then it's been nothing but a bunch of frustrating disappointments!167Views1like0CommentsCustom Egine.ini for vr
Custom Engine.ini for vr. I have a 4090 so adjust parameters for your system. This is my personal Pref after 380 something hrs in this game. I have adjusted the draw distance on trees etc so there is good detail around the track still without needing too much clutter in the distance cause let's be honest, who has time to take in the scenery when you on the limit! :D Feel free to tinker and give feedback if possible. Hope this helps someone. Just copy paste contents into an open instance of engine.ini located @ users//appdata/local/wrc/saved/config/windowsnoeditor. Don't forget to save. https://pastebin.com/e8mUXgE2 In game parameters foveated 1x dlss balanced shadows and shaders high Fog off Crowd, post proc, weather, mirrors, skiddies all off or low medium object med particles ultra track, textures high trees and shrubbery 😉Sokittoya76A2 months agoRising Scout224Views0likes0CommentsNot running as it should in VR
I'm having a problem in WRC and playing in VR. I have a really good setup comprising of an AM5 Ryzen 9 processor, RTX 4080 superoverclock, 128GB DDR5 memory and running from M.2 SSD. I find that no matter what settings I choose, my HTC Vive Pro 2 just stutters. It's mainly during loading, which tends to hurt my eyes as the displays become unbalanced but I do have a brurred line across the screen when racing. With my current setup I should be able to max out all my settings on any game but I am really struggling to get WRC to run good in VR. I haven't tried the 2D version as I am not interested in that. All the F1 titles run seamlessly, even when all settings are maxed out. I'd really like to figure out what is going on with this so I can continue playing. Thanks in advance177Views0likes0CommentsVR still does not work with Reverb G2 in new Patch
I expected the latest patch to fix proper OpenXR (without SteamVR) for WMR headsets but it appears to still be broken. This whole game has been a scam that I can't even get a refund for. Bought it for the announced VR support and played on deck to tie me over and now VR doesn't work for months and it doesn't even work on Steam Deck anymore either. can't even get a refund for this unplayable pile of junk.909Views3likes6CommentsAfter 1.9, no longer allows VR on WMR HMD's like HP Reverb and Samsung Odyssey
I'm on a Samsung headset and I'm reading from HP Reverb users that they can longer play in VR either. Why do we have to wait for a prompt? Why can't EA WRC just see if an OpenXR runtime exists on the system and, if so, add an option in the menu to switch to VR? Or allow us to force via command lineShearersHedge3 months agoRising Adventurer1.6KViews2likes51CommentsNewest patch completely broke VR (not exaggeratin, it's now actually unplayable)
This newest update completely broke VR. It wasn't great before, but it was at least playable prior to the update, but now everything is completely misaligned and weirdly warped on my right eye. The left still works as it should. WTF man? Did no one playtest this update? VR is now quite litterally unplayable... This needs an immediate fix. Edit* I use the original HTC ViveSolved4KViews3likes46Comments- 1.4KViews2likes15Comments
Anyone Had success with PC+PSVR2?
I'm on a 3070/i7 11th gen/32Gb here and the menus are a slideshow, sub 1fps. I found a post by u/LunchFlat6515 on reddit with suggested settings, but no good. The FAQ says not supported but I assume that's Native PS5 PSVR2 and/ or motion controls. This is just using a Fanatec wheel and SteamVR. @Devs - happy to help if you need anything!Solved1KViews1like6CommentsVR bug: menu scrolling down/left constantly after removing headset
VR headset: Meta Quest 3 GPU: RTX 4090 Whenever I remove and replace my VR headset, there is a strong chance that, on putting it back on and going through the "VR Headset disconnected" screen, that the menus will scroll constantly either left (in garage etc) or down (start menu in a race). Has anyone else experienced this? I've had this behavior before Patch 1.09, since VR beta launched, actually.668Views1like1Comment- 5.9KViews2likes56Comments
VR crashes with Varjo Aero
Ok, looks like no WRC VR soup for me for now. Game crashes with Varjo set to handle OpenXR after the first screen where it's asking if I'd like to play in VR. With SteamVR set to be OpenXR game manages to start, with horrible stutters when turning head, and crashes when I try to start a time trial. In both cases the crash is silent, with no pop-up window messages, simply goes back to Steam. AMD 5900X, 64G RAM, and a 4090. Both DR and RD2 work fine as they used to; so hopefully it's not a problem with my setup. Update: Managed to get it working in SteamVR OpenXR. Horrible stutters when turning head but otherwise it runs, although doesn't look very good. I think disabling the OpenXR Toolkit globally is what did the trick. It still crashes when Varjo Base is set as the OpenXR runtime which is where I'd like it to actually work, as I'm guessing having SteamVR in the middle is the cause of the very bad stutters when turning head.DKay1144 months agoSeasoned Rookie2.4KViews4likes49Comments
