Career Mode - retirement of drivers

Hi guys,

in this post, I want to give some information about a really interesting suggestion that I have for F1 23 and future titles.

In real life, we know that Lewis Hamilton said that he would continue in F1 until he's 50 or so, therefore, there are no immediate retirement plans for him. However, I have seen a video of Lewis Hamilton already retiring after one season in Career Mode, which makes zero sense all things in real life considered.

On the other side of the coin, Max Verstappen said that he might retire from F1 sooner if the FIA continue to change rules that aren't in his favor (like an increased number of Sprints, even though he knows very well that the Sprints only help him win). Yet again, he never seems to retire in any season.

So, not only would I like to see reworked retirement chances for certain drivers, as well as younger drivers being affected by a small retirement chance, but also, an interesting addition:

• If a driver announces their retirement, but you still want to give them a shot, you can try to hire them at the end of the season with the final contract renewal. However, you would have to pay the driver way more than the usual market value. I'm thinking 150% for a low risk, 130% for a medium risk, and 110% for a high risk. But, if you sign a different driver at another contract renewal, they're gone for good.

Especially for someone like me, it would be a great addition, because for one, my ultimate goal in My Team is always to sign Lewis Hamilton, for two, it allows me to keep him beyond his initial retirement plans, and for three, it could mix up the roster if say Pierre Gasly or Max Verstappen retire. But of course, rookies like Piastri, de Vries and Logan Sargeant, should remain unaffected by retirement.

Let's hope that EA takes it into consideration for this and future games.
