There is a note on origin website.

A note to our Origin players: We’re excited to bring F1® 22 to Origin for the first time. 
At launch, players on Origin will be able to compete with EA Play members and trial players. 
Cross-play for Origin players will be added post-launch so you can play with your friends across all platforms.

Check the steam page, it says you have to link your steam and origin accounts. So surly they will be able to play multiplayer together.

But why does the Steam edition require Origin + EA account then, if it isn't possible to play together anyways?

What a joke, we have a league and now our players are scattered across steam and eaplay/origin. No we will either have to switch back to 2021 or buy the game again. Please just release the game when these sort of basic features are implemented. Or at the very least clearly communicate these sort of things way in advance.

I'm sorry but are you kidding right now? Are you honestly kidding? How can you guys be so ridiculous? Do you actually realize what you have just done with the community of this game? You absolutely killed it. You literally killed online racing now.

i guess that would explain why I can't find anyone to play with on multiplayer, most people probs bought on steam... I'm gonna get my refund from EA and rebuy on steam...

this is unacceptable, the development of the game is just unbelievably bad. no crossplay, many bugs but necessary resources were wasted on something as unnecessary as F1 Life.
F1 22 is already one of  the biggest jokes

and I tried to get a refund but the page isn't working, what a shocker... guess I will have to wait to speak with live support

Absolutly not acceptable! EA was talking on crossplay, yes. But crossplatform.. No link between steam and origin? That's it for me and this game..

So it´s not even possible to be in the same lobby when someone ist using Origin and another one Steam? 

HOW can you release a game with no working multiplayer. You´re forcing players to buy it on Steam or Origin and can´t even connect both?

Simply stunning. Bought F1 22 thinking that might be the last good F1 game by Codies, before EA burns, brakes and grave it.
I guess it's not the case anymore.
