Re: No rain in career

I would recommend to change weather setup. I use approximate config and I have rain quite often, either during FPs or quali or race.

To find it, go to Setting in your DC/MT career and choose Weather and Time of Day. You may need to change your Race Style to Expert to see it.

There, you change the Forecast Accuracy to Approximate. And the fun starts 😉

    Hey Everyone,

Thanks for letting us know what you're seeing with F1 22. In order to get more information on missing rain and to better share it with our team would it be possible to get the following information if you're not seeing any rain in the game?

    • Platform:
    • Summary of issue:
    • Which area is the bug/glitch in?
    • How can we find the bug ourselves?
    • What happens when the bug occurs?
    • What do you expect to see?
    • Also be sure to include any clips, videos, or additional information that may help.

    Thanks!

  • This wasn't my post but the exact same thing is happening to me.

    • Platform: PS5 Disc Version
    • Summary of issue: I've been playing My team for 3 seasons and I have never had any rain. Every single session is clear and dry with 1-4% chance of rain.
    • My Team
    • How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
    • Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play MyTeam or career mode
    • What happens when the bug occurs? Every practice, qualifying, sprint, and grand prix is completely sunny with 1-4% chance of rain.
    • What do you expect to see? A variance of weather.

@P4st3l1ak  Hey i have been playing on Approximate and have had enough rain (really don't like driving in the rain tho...)

Will set it to perfect and hope the rain will be less/gone for me then :P

    • Platform: PC
    • Summary of issue: 0 wet weather sessions so far (done 2 seasons of my team career mode completed). In % the chance of rain is never higher than 4%. Always in 1-4%. Never more. All sessions are completely sunny.
    • Which area is the bug/glitch in? My team career mode, in all sessions (FP, Quali, sprints, race)
    • How can we find the bug ourselves? I guess play my team career mode
    • What do you expect to see? Wet weather sessions to bring some variety to the game.

@Zigg00 come on, where is fun in perfect weather? 😉 just look at this season's Formula E race in New York, that's real life 😉
  • It feels like my fame stopped having any rain after I first changed weather setting to Approximate. I have started multiple saves at this point and haven’t seen rain at all for maybe the past 2 months of daily play.

Hmmm, that's an interesting point. We're also running approximate weather in our co-op career too and haven't seen any rain for nearly two whole seasons now. Might try changing it to perfect and seeing if that fixes the problem (not sure if I can change it mid co-op career, so might have to start again first and play for a season or so).

  • This issue still isn't on the community issues list, so at this point I doubt we'll be seeing it being addressed any time soon, however...

It took a while, but I can confirm the issue appears to be with the 'approximate' weather setting. Having started a second co-op career and left the weather on perfect, throughout our first season, we've been seeing a mixture of practice/qualifying/race sessions with wet weather appearing (intermediate/full wet/changing conditions).

Also, as a side note, while 'approximate' appears to be broken in some way, 'perfect' seems to be, well, not perfect at all. I have to assume the definitions of these two options are:

    • Approximate: The weather report is a best guess and may or may not be correct. If it says it's going to rain, it might rain, or it might not, and if it does, the timing of its arrival is may be incorrect.
    • Perfect: If it says it's going to rain, it's going to rain. And the arrival time of the rain is always accurate.

But from my experience 'perfect' acts more like my definition of 'approximate'. In one race at Austria in particular, intermediate conditions were forecast for the race. Sitting on starting grid, looking at the strategy screen, the timeline for the weather was: SUNNY | CLOUDY | CLOUDY | CLOUDY | LIGHT RAIN (So light rain starting in around 25 minutes into a 50% race). So, with the weather being set to 'perfect', you'd think running long on hard tires would be the way to go, but it actually started raining about 3 laps in, with the DRS being disabled around lap 8.

For anyone wondering about this in the future, you can change this mid career, as long as your settings mode is set to 'expert' and not 'standard' or 'casual'. You have to do it between races weekends though. Having said that, I haven't had time to test changing the setting mid season to see if it fixes the original issue. But maybe someone on this thread wants to try it.

    I'd like to bump this:

    • Platform: PC (Through EA App)
    • Summary of issue: No rain in Career Mode in races (appears occasionally in driving challenges)
    • Which area is the bug/glitch in? Weather
    • How can we find the bug ourselves? Just start career mode. I started with weather on accurate, changed it to approximate at different times
    • What happens when the bug occurs? Chance of rain never goes above 4% for a race weekend.  I'm 5 seasons in and have never had a wet session.  The supercar challenges have rain on occasion but I'd like it in the actual races.
    • What do you expect to see? Well...rain

Have you started a new MT save after patch 1.12 or is it an old save?

Some gamers complained about fuel calculations even when issue was fixed earlier. It looks like new save may resolve this problem.

I started new MT and DC after patch 1.10 released, with Weather set to Approximate, and I already had few mixed or wet sessions after 11 GPs, even full wet races.

    Platform: Steam on PC

Just FYI, I have just had two races with rain, with Weather set to Approximate.

Hungary in DC: on Interns from start, dried up for slicks around lap 26.

Hungary in MT: drizzle started about 5 laps in, then heavy rain around lap 18, then light rain around lap 25.

No changes to saved game, both careers started after patch 1.10.

So it seems working fine for me.

    (platform: Steam on PC)

  • Where are the tires?

They use multiple Mediums and hard tires in reallife...i have only one Set of both but...how unlogic...2 stets Medium in Sprint races

@wvlvll0j7x1v   I think it has been flagged many times by many gamers, usually in patch forums.

The most recent one is here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/F1-22-Patch-1-14-Hotfix-Discussion-Thread/td-p/11964904 , feel free to raise it again.

UPDATE: I found a note in CLOSED section in here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Updates/F1-22-Community-Raised-Issues/m-p/11640498#M9

I've just started my 6th season of myteam and have had about 4 sessions with rain, 2 races (canada and france), a free practice and a qualifying session all in season 1 when I had the forecast set to perfect.

I then thought "Huh, perfect is too perfect and I want a challenge so let me set it to approximate to give some cool races" and it hasn't rained a single drop of rain ever since (approx. 70-80 races on 50% distance) it is always bone dry as well, not even overcast.

Near the start of season 5 I came across this post and I saw that Tribladez wanted someone to try changing back to perfect from approximate partway through a career/myteam to see if rain comes back but after about 10 more races after switching back to perfect forecast there still hasn't been a single wet or overcast session at all.

I could continue playing to see because this could just be bad luck but I'm getting bored very fast from the absence of rain even if it is 'annoying' to drive in so let me know if anyone has found a fix/solution or if you guys want me to do a few more weekends to see if the rain comes back.

how does this even happen smh

  • I play two-player career on PS5. We just started season 3.Weather setting is approximate.Expert setting.

season 1: Varied weather, everything was working great.

season 2: Not a single drop all season. 4% risk of rain every single race

season 3: 3 races in and not a drop so far.

Codemasters, why don’t you fix this???? It takes away à LOT of the suspense (and tactics)
