Re: F1 Game Community Suggestions Hub
Well, there is one thing that I would love to see in future F1 games:
A new upgrading system.
As you guys know, I have a lot of fun with F1 Manager 22, bringing Mercedes to absolute dominance where this awesome team belongs, and for the Codemasters F1 games, I have an idea regarding the upgrade system.
In F1 Manager 22, you need to utilize the given CFD and Wind Tunnel time to get better aerodynamic parts to improve the performance of your car. Depending on where you placed last year, you get more time for the ATR period. And obviously, if you start My Team, you get the highest ATR time.
What this whole upgrading system entails is, that the downforce stat affects both front and rear downforce so that the setups don't get disrupted, drag reduction increases top speed and improves acceleration, obviously, brake cooling lets the brakes cool down faster and prevents overheating, and therefore decreases the chance of lock-ups when playing without ABS. A higher DRS Delta obviously improves acceleration and speed when using DRS, and engine cooling obviously prevents engine overheat when racing in the hot, turbulent wake of cars ahead.
The engine upgrades solely depend on your engine supplier, unless you play My Team as a Works Team. There are power, durability, and fuel efficiency stats, which all engine suppliers need to take care of. All changes to the engine thanks to upgrades or reg changes would apply next season though.
Also, all the teams save for Mercedes, Ferrari, Alpine, and Red Bull can change their engine supplier, meaning say McLaren can change to say the Red Bull engine next season.
Same deal with the facilities that need to be upgraded and refurbished. In comparison, while in Driver Career the facilities are automatically being upgraded/refurbished, you have to do all of this yourself when playing My Team.
Overall, the entire upgrade system should be like in the F1 Manager 22, so that you can keep upgrading. Usually, you have a maxed out car after three seasons, but what if you want to continue upgrading without waiting for regulation changes? That's what I love about the F1 Manager 22, you can keep upgrading and get the team you play with to the top, and this without any limit.
I once said in a different post that Codemasters and Frontier should work together to make the perfect F1 game. Since that won't be happening, all we can do is hope that Codemasters break free from the chains of EA, upgrade the EGO engine, and work their magic again like back in 2015-2020.
