I finally figured out why the AI is so overpowered in career mode and my team mode, and why they get a bigger advantage the longer you get into your career mode.There is something wrong with how the players car loads upgrades when first starting a session. I'm not certain which upgrades don't load properly but it's eitherengine, drag or customer engine upgrades not applying when you first start a session. They will however apply correctly if you ever restart a session.So you should always restart every session you do and you will have the correct car performance. (this includes races) I have tested this both on xbox series x and the pc version of the game.And on most tracks i get from 4-7 km/h extra speed when i restart the session, I drive the lap half a second to a second faster depending on the track.Using the same setup suddenly my car is much better in a straight line and I can also feel the acceleration is so much better.I encourage others to try this out if they have a career mode that's a few seasons in where the supplier upgrades is almost max out. My suspicion is that it's the supplierupgrades that don't load properly when you first start a session.

@ScarDuck14 Can I just check mate...do you only restart practice sessions after drag upgrades or do you restart qualifying and race sessions as well ?

@Lwilson97As a rule now I restart sessions whenever I remember to. Don’t trust the game to be on the level and restarting sessions definitely seems to work a lot off the time

Ah ok, so it's a known issue? I don't understand how they did not figure that out previously when they were making the performance patch. I actually did notice it I think around august last year, but then I stopped playing the game because I hated how the car was handling. Now I made some mods to the tyre wear and it seems to have fixed the problems I had with the car suddenly snapping on me mid race, even though it still happens sometimes. I increased the front tyre wear by 12.5 percent and also modded the rear tyres to heat up a little less by 5 percent. The car feels so much better when the tyres degrades evenly.

@ImpartialCross06 It’s a little known issue that I think codemasters hope that no one would notice. So they don’t have to fix it. As it never has got fixed.

Could also be by design. Placebo so to speak. As problem with a fully maxed car last year made it a pain in the rear to control

Oh damn.. there are so much things to do to keep the game playable in career.
In F1 2020 and 2021 there was a bug, that the AI seems to become faster the more the cars become upgraded too. Thats why we had to lower down the AI by 2 or 3 Points after each season, to keep the AI level on your own level.
Is this bug still in F1 2022 by the way?
Now we also have to restart ever session.. good that you've find a solution for it. I didn't buy F1 2022 because I read about too much bugs.
Now we can be sure that this bug will by transfered in F1 2023 too. How do you solve the problem in coop careers? I mean there is no solution to restart a session if I remember correctly.

Seriously? I mean I had a break for a few months,but F1 season brought me back and it is cool to be back after a few Updates. But this workaround is new for me 😄 yesterday I was in Abu Dhabi, Q1 out,then restart session,made it to Q3. Is that a known and serious taken issue? The I lost a couple of qualy's because of that.
Same I did in the race,restart directly and finished 4th , started at 10th.
So this workaround you all do actually?

Just to be on the same Page,e.g. we mean Qualy start,you press options Button and restart Session. Same for every Session you need your "updated" car. So most important qualy and race. In race right after the start you restart it badically?
