Re: Is there a way to stop the lover sims of roommates visit my household?

Well, I really don't think you're going to control the roommate-girlfriend thing with lot traits.

I've tried using roommates before and gave up since the whole system is rather broken. (Like most systems in the game) Could never keep one for more than a few days before they inexplicably left.

Most of the roommate... I don't want to say "traits"... Quirks? Like bringing food all the time, playing the violin, are done by hidden traits. They are removed easily enough. You can look up what hidden traits a sim has with the ShowSimInfo mod, or with MCCC. MCCC will also let you remove both normal and hidden traits.

If you have a sim that brings their girlfriend over all the time, use one of those two mods to see if they have some kind of "has-girlfriend" hidden trait, and remove it.

Those traits are randomly assigned. So when I was playing Uni, If I see a few sims bring over food all the time, I usually remove the trait from all but one. (saves me from cooking all the time). Same thing with violin players. They're just annoying so I remove their trait for it.

    @Psychotps Thanks for very helpful tip. 🙂 I don't like MCCC mod so, I'm using Sim info mod instead. But I don't know how to remove the hidden trait without MCCC. Is there any good way of cheating? Thanks a lot. :D

    It's a lot harder without MCCC... I'm not sure about the exact command for doing it from an NPC sim... The command is this...

    traits.remove_trait {trait name}

    But that only works for the Active sim. I suppose you could use cheat commands with testingcheats on to bring the NPC sim to your household, make them active, then use it... But that may mess up roommates.

    There might be a way to do it remotely, it didn't always work for me though...

    traits.remove_trait {trait name} {firstname} {lastname}
    or
    Sims.get_sim_id_by_name {simfirstname} {simlastname}
    traits.remove_trait {trait name} {simid}

    Not sure. MCCC is infinitely easier and always works.

    @Psychotps Thanks! I have that cheat on my wordpad. I can find the sim's id on show sims info mod easily. I'm not planning to get a roommate now but next time, I will use this cheat if I get one. :D

    @aodoherty I'll have to try it, for my own knowledge. The main problem is the simid, darn thing is like 14 or so digits and its a pain to type in.

    @Psychotps I wish I could be able to add or remove the hidden trait by shift clicking. I don't understand why Maxis made that annoying ID numbers..
