Re: The Sims 4 Live In Same House

Other, pack-specific options:

  • If you have City Living, you can give them a key but not actually move them in. They'll autonomously stop by frequently and hang out.
  • If you have Discover University, you can add an extra bed to the lot, place an advertisement, and try to ask them to be a roommate. They'll live in the house and pay rent towards the household bills.
  • If you have Growing Together you can invite them for long/frequent stayovers. Then ask them to help out and they'll participate in household chores.

Or, the brute-force method. Invite them over to visit, get them into the house, then lock all doors for specific Sim and pick them. Then they can't leave! :-)

@PipMenace that's a great tip, how do I get guests staying over to help with chores?
On Xbox I'm experiencing a few bugs with my overnight guests 🙁. I can't get them to do anything except drink loads of water and raid the fridge, leaving used crockery all over indoors and outdoors. Apart from that they just watch TV and they won't sleep in assigned beds (bug reported). There's quite a clean up afterwards. I wonder if I'm missing an option somewhere.

@simsplayer818 Have you used the social interaction "ask to help out" when they arrive? Stayover guests for me tend to just hang around unless I ask them to help out. Then they'll clean, do laundry, take care of kids, etc. But I also haven't had an issue with them not using their assigned bed, so if there's some larger bug behind that it could also interfere with what they do around the house.

@PipMenace Thanks so much, no I hadn't seen that interaction so now I know it's an option I'll give it another try tomorrow with a different household.
The bed issue has a bug thread so I'm sure it will be addressed as GRO gets fixes.
