Re: The Sims 4 - Horse Ranch Information Megathread

@xochiquetzl_xkvn @simsplayer818 I also love the world, though I had been hoping for a non-US setting. But as a setting within the US, it's gorgeous! And the build items are great - Moonwood Mill needs some log cabins.

I also am really excited for nectar making, as I grew up in wine country. But unfortunately I am not, myself, all that into horses (though they do look well done!) so I may still wait until it goes on sale. We'll see if the livestream changes my mind.

    @PipMenace  Yeah, my family is from Texas, so between that and the New Mexico vibes the world looks SO homey.

    We did NOT have horses. My father had asthma and glasses and ran department stores. Yee ha 😉🤣

    But the horses look great and I can’t wait to play with them!

    I love Austin!

    My family was mostly in Dallas, but when my father retired he moved to San Antonio, another awesome city.

    In the middle of the English countryside, the first thing I see each day out of the window is a field full of horses. We sometimes see community police on horses too, we get horses trotting past the house on the way to our rural walk which was converted from old train tracks and my friend has a pro carriage racing stable. Sigh, all these horses and none of them are mine. So I can't wait... even though my own horses will be pixelated.

    But I also see potential for Glimmerbrook/occult worlds with the unicorn (even if it may just be a unicorn costume as there is some debate about whether it's real or not). I'm so getting a unicorn for my Wiccan!

    @PipMenace

    Definitely agree that Moonwood Mill could use some log cabins, especially on the lot by the river! You could build such a nice mini-farm there for gardening and nectar making. Of all the build items shown so far in the trailers, which are you most excited about?

    @xochiquetzl_xkvn

    No horses for me growing up either since we're "city folk" so I'm very excited to play with them too! Is there a specific feature that's got you most excited so far, like raising foals or trail riding? I personally can't wait to have my own rodeo and do some barrel racing 😁

    @simsplayer818

    Glimmerbrook would be a gorgeous world to start a ranch! Windenburg might be a fun choice too if you're looking for something similar to the English countryside- plus it has a couple of great 64x64 lots which would be excellent for a larger farm or ranch. Are there any other worlds you might start a ranch in, or are you thinking of mostly sticking to Chestnut Ridge?

    @EA_Solaire I'm actually starting with a cottage living neighbourhood first because I was planning to rebuild a farm I had in my last game. So I'll have it ready for launch day and it will finally get the horses it missed the last time.

    Literally never been so excited!

    @EA_SolaireIt may be a small thing, but honestly, that log cabin wallpaper. And the columns/spandrels. I'd love to redo this cabin with them: https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/pc/gallery/011A1B06EF7111EC8CA4566FAF7AD0DA?category=all&searchtype=ea_origin_id&sortby=downloads&time=all&searchquery=PipMenace&max=50&maxis=false

    The wine barrels - excuse me, nectar aging barrels - are also great. I'd love to build a winery! I already have several wine grape varieties as cc...

    Edit to add: I am in love with this goat. New Sims mascot.

    I have to say I might be just a little more excited about the horses after watching the live stream.  :-)   The mini goats and sheep are adorable!  I also like that there is a bit of cross pack gameplay with them as well as with the nectar making.  Maybe I misunderstood but it seems like Vampires might be able to enjoy some plasma fruit nectar soon?

    @EA_Solaire

    I’m really excited for my Super Sim. She’d run out of skills and aspirations. So… sadly, I think it’s time for a Rite of Dissolution so she can do werewolves and then move to the ranch! She thanks you for new skills and aspirations!

    I’m also… I have a sim who was supposed to be a rancher, so I gave him the Animal Enthusiast trait and the Country Caretaker aspiration… in Strangerville. 🤣 He’s since come a long way—ended his bad marriage, went to university in economics, became a conservationist—but now that his son has grown and become a conservationist, too, maybe he should follow his dreams and move to Chestnut Ridge. He can commute to Sulani. 😉

    @JonaO703

    I saw that, too! I had a lot of fun making fizzy plasma with my vampires. 🤣 They specifically mentioned werewolves and spellcasters, too, so I’m really curious!
