If we're not able to get the rights from Fox and/or the whole crew that do the pre-game show would you think the experience would be the same if we had fictional pre-game commentators in their place? - KeenOSabi4 years agoNew Adventurer
I don't think they meant Fox in particular. They meant they want that style of broadcast.
Didn't EA have rights to use ESPN personalities and branding for 15 years? I know that deal ran out but it feels like we didn't get much out of that besides some fictional tweets from Mark Schlereth and Trey Wingo.
Personally I'd love to see a show where you actually see personalities on camera breaking down last week's performances, making predictions on the outcome of the game you're about to play, or maybe a halftime show talking about what your team did well or where they need to improve, as well as the scores around the league (the current halftime show feels very barebones and it's just Coachman doing a voiceover).
Make the Super Bowl and the draft feel bigger with an on air recap before the super bowl, do predictions, talk about guys on your team that won awards, stuff like that. I know it won't be spot on like a TV broadcast but maybe something like "Now let's get to the AFC Champs, coming into this game they have the #4 offense in the league, led by the offensive ROTY" or something like that. Give us people actually providing commentary on the draft other than "The (team) are now on the clock", have them mention that it was a stretch for them to draft a guy, or that they got a steal. The tweets are cool but they feel so buried and irrelevant half the time that they almost serve no purpose.
Just my ideas.

Another thought I just had, maybe the week leading up to a super bowl, add in a ton of questions from the press to sort of mimic media day. You could even have the players sitting down with a bunch of reporters around them and have them ask questions pertaining to the game. Their answers could affect things after the game like player morale, fan happiness, team chemistry, or even give some incentive in the game. If they give a Namath style guarantee that they'll win the game, then they go out and play well early, maybe they get a little performance boost like their catching or pass accuracy goes up. If they give that guarantee and then lay an egg early on, their performance dips a little bit. Just kinda throwing ideas out there but that would be a neat feature.

I'd be pretty sweet if you had that option where you could take a chance on making a Namath style guarantee and if you don't perform well it could impact your rating going into next season. If the opponent knows who is looking to get the ball (I'm thinking Connected Franchise with another human opponent) that can really spice things up on knowing who to cover for the gameplan. Or maybe you do it on purpose to throw off your opponent if you knew you were going to release that player in the off-season! Decoys are absolutely a real thing in the NFL.
Like the idea of having a press conference with questions to impact the game. This is a great thread we'll keep an eye on and continue to collect thoughts here for the team. - KeenOSabi4 years agoNew Adventurer
Thanks for the response! I think that's a great idea.

See my topic about presentation to see my input about the pregame show and more!

I think you need an entire overhaul on your presentation. A pre game show would be cool like they've had in previous years. More importantly a halftime and postgame show with actual highlights from the game filmed from cool angles.
Of course online players could skip by pressing ex.
I think little details like that really elevate the experience of the people watching and playing the game.
I think this year improvements were made on gameplay but presentation slipped.
Also, return the huddle break where players walk up to the line of scrimmage please!

We need more of a TV presentation all around. We as passionate gamer's resort to NBC, Fox, CBS, NFL Network to show the details of the game being played as well as details of other games around the league. And this includes stats. The atmosphere should match the game. playoffs, Super Bowl. But even the game's through out the season. Like rivalry game's, important games for seeding etc. We need that TV presentation in game too. With new stat overlays, overlays for the Play tendency, QB differential of throws in different parts of the field. Team statics in game CPU (opponents) statistical overlays. Things you see in a TV Broadcast. Then you tie it up with the commentary team playing off of all this.
