Re: Mass Effect 1 (Legendary Edition) lagging after 1 hour of Playtime

@UncleBonez187 PS: Games like Read Dead Redemption 2 or other new games that force everything out of my computer work perfectly fine on almost Ultra Settings. It's only Mass Effect 1, and I had the same playing Tomb Raider half a year ago.. maybe this helps..

Got the same issue... had tryed much but it will not run with more than 16fps

  • No, I get 190FPS BUT only for an hour, or one and a half.. then I have to restart the game because the FPS start dropping.. the game is running fine first hour after I start it then it starts to go down

Yes, 44% when the lagging starts.. so I guess thats not the problem.

Probably not, VRam is also good?  Any background programs or services acting out?

  • @holger1405 Yes, I tracked everything with HW Monitor.. maximum RAM and VRam Usage was like 40%.. processor and graphic card usage 40% maximum as well.. like you would expect from a good computer to handle an "old" game.. but still I got those lags starting every time after exactly 1 hour
  • @holger1405 Maybe its the SSD, I will try to reinstall on HDD over night and see if it gets better.. maybe game is to old for SSD technic^^

I even have the old games on an M.2 SSD, and they work flawless.

Do you mind sharing an DxDiag ? You upload the DxDiag with the "Choose file" button at the bottom right corner of the reply window.

  • Hey,

my Problem isnt solved. If reloading the Game i got 200+ FPS for a few Minutes. Then drop down near 16-20 FPS.

I tryed to use the HDD instead the M2.SSD 970 EVO. But it doesnt help.

I also tryed to clean my PC, got new Drivers and put the GRAKA Power to maximum. ME1 is set as High Priotity in the TaskManager..

    But it also wont help.

    GTX1770TI
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz 4.20 GHz
     RAM 16,0 GB
    64-Bit-Betriebssystem, x64-basierter Prozessor

    So here is my DX.diag.

Sry my englisch isnt perfect :D

I have the same problem and it's even worse!

    AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

    Geforce RTX 3080

    DDR 32 GB Ram

    M2 SSD

I've deactivated every Overlay (Steam, Nvidia, Origin) but I'm still most of the time at 50-80 fps. If I would use my wireless mouse (Roccat Leadr) in wireless mode, it's even worse at 25-40 fps. So I've to plug in the cable for my Mouse to get at least 50-80 fps

After playing 1-2 hours the same happens to me and the fps drops to 1-5, I'm not able to do anything in the game anymore and have to quit with ALT + F4! The funny thing is, my mouse and desktop continue to stutter until I plug it out and in again. Can it be that you also use a wireless mouse? Maybe there are some problems with specific peripherals?

I'm playing other games (Metro Exodus, Battlefield V, Cyberpunk 2077) on 3840 x 1600 resolution in Max Details with full raytracing and never had any problem. There is definitely some poor coding or interference with something!

    @PNX_NoFrAg86

  • @holger1405 Hey,
