Seems like you're misremembering something, that VI is never delivered to the cabin in the original ME2.

In ME3, you do get to see the Shepard VI on the Citadel. Perhaps you're thinking of that.

Idk about the OT but LE talking to moue, you mention it (after asking Bailey about mouse’s crimes) and he hands it to you. He tells you there are 3 volus always patching it. I know this for fact because as I’m typing this im playing this exact moment.
im 90% sure it was in the OT ME2 as well
They did mention it, but nothing was done with it that I ever saw until ME3.
- @CaptainVegeta95 You are right, first notice about VI is in ME2 Thane's loyalty mission. Even on original ME2 was not delivery.
Getting it in MELE2 imply additional content which would push the game from remastered to remake.
And you also should remind, it not "Sheppard VI" but "illegal Sheppard VI" and you are not even paying to get it. You can't expect to find it in Normandy although I look for that as well 🙂

Maybe it was an oversight or maybe it was just meant as a joke.
@DocTheGamer and @mcsupersport are right however, there is nothing done with the Shepard VI in ME2 original.
