Just to clarify, we solved the issue in private messages. My suggestion was that it's a localization issue, in which case you have to force the game to use English VO and text.

Copied from that page:

  1. Browse to your Mass Effect 2 installation directory and look in the ‘data’ folder.
  2. Open sku.ini file with a text editor such as Notepad. Make a backup of this file before you alter it – this way you can revert to original if anything goes wrong.
  3. Edit the [SKU] section of the  file so that it looks like the text below:
    [SKU]
    SKU=
    VOLanguage=INT
    TextLanguage=INT
  4. Save and close the configuration editor.

Note: INT stands for 'international', which is English.
