Re: Insufficient space for new save (normal and auto). Can't start other characters.

@kainewynd2

Can you fully power off your console by pressing and holding the power button. Check the situation when you power it back on and let us know your results here, thanks.

    All righty... that worked.

    I'm loathe to mark it as "solved" though since this is a repeating issue.  I semi-regularly move my Xbox from one TV to another and that requires disconnecting power.

    Is there a projected time for the actual fix on this?  Perhaps something that doesn't require restarting my Xbox to use a save slot?

  • I'm having this problem in Mass Effect Andromeda now, started happening right around the time I hit level 50 in the game. I'm playing off a game disc on an Xbox Series X.

    I am playing away and suddenly everything stops and I get a black "Insufficient space - need at least 30MiB to save" (maybe not exact wording, but you get the idea) error screen. When I look in the Game menu at saved games, it looks as if AutoSave is now triggering itself every 60 seconds or so, so I'm guessing the space is filling up quickly. I don't recall autosave triggering that often before? I get the error on manual saves as well, unless I've just cleared out saved games. I have restarted, and also turned the console off and then on again, but the issue persists. This has been happening for a few days in a row.

    As I play, I do go in and clear out as many saves as I can, and then I can usually - but not always - keep playing, and/or manually save my game. But after a while the autosaves fill up the saved game bin again, and I have to manually clear out save files again.

    It is a real immersion killer, and is starting to ruin my enjoyment of what is otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable game (I love ME Andromeda!)

    I also got a saving bug right after completing Drack's loyalty mission, not too long before this new issue started. I went to manually save, the screen went black and the red and white saving icon on the lower right of the screen just twirled there for several minutes. After a while I could hear the game, and pressing buttons on the controller seemed to trigger the appropriate actions, based on the audio (moving, jumping, etc> but the screen stayed black and I couldn't play. I had to restart and then turn the console on and off a couple times to get my game back, otherwise it would just load back into the black screen. I am not wondering if this might have caused, or signaled, the saving issue?
