@kreatora when creating my sim, will it not work for asking to learn magic (because it won't) just because she is already a spellcaster in create a sim?

You confuse two concepts. It is different to ask sage to make your sim become a wizard, and another thing is to ask sage to learn magic. Of course, your sim will be able to ask sage to learn magic. You just need to know that your sim must have some level of familiarity with this sage. He doesn't have to be a friend of sage, but they need to get to know each other a little.
