she saved my bacon in the gun battery, so it doesn't seem right to just sit by an let her die.
as a solid, respected, and exceptionally capable leader, she is far more valuable an asset then a handful of scouts, even krogan scouts.
finally, the initiative would take a bit of a morale drop from learning that all the original pathfinders are dead. i think within the story maintaining morale should be fairly crucial to success.
now with sarissa my main feeling is that she simply cannot be trusted with peoples lives, i think a big part of being pathfinder is protecting your colonists. sarissa seems to be more concerned with going on the offensive as opposed to you know... safeguarding the people she's charged with defending. iirc, didn't sarissa endanger the entire ark for a bit of intelligence, useful intel i agree, but not worth the entire ark. honestly anyone who can trust her with the entire asari population should do a good long double-take.

Do you think the story arc will include something to make us regret the decision to keep her on (especially if we stay mum about it)? I seriously weighed that in making my decision.
I trusted Raeka pathfinder's skills more than Krogan shoot stuff and don't die "scouts". If a group can survive without my help, that'd be...
My choice is obvious.
But lemme also argue this additionally with Ashley vs Kaidan. When ME series were ME1 only, I picked "damsel in distress". When biotic explosions became a thing, and the damsel got hollywoodized plasticjobs, I replayed to chose Kaidan. In the upcoming war I needed teamwork damage, not looks and certainly not xenophobia.
The war is coming. Pathfinders won't be needed in it. They must act (properly?) now or never. Experienced or not.
That also answers who was my pick in Asari choice.
I am guessing you went with a military first outpost then. 🙂
Ash was the hardest character for me to like/love in the ME series (Jacob was a waste of time, but I guess they felt they needed somebody in there who could fall under the Shep's spell yet walk away). I really enjoyed replay for the mix and match options as well as at least one renegade runthrough just for fun (okay, more than one). 👿
