Re: Not enough missions for strike teams

I suppose these strike teams and all are a bit of a bridge between the SP and MP sides of the game by offering the choice between doing the mission yourself or have a strike team do it for you.

I do get that they want sort of a best of both worlds deal but for me a lot of issues come from them not really explaining how things work. I have this feeling that there is some timing issue where you get x amount of mission per day. So if you complete more rounds within 24 hours you'll have fewer and fewer missions left over until the next reset point.

I noticed this myself a few times when I played more on a given day that I just ended up with fewer missions the second round on that day. Never got to a third. But yeah, there has to be something like that in play. Just never got to the bottom of it.

There is also the problem with the 200 item cap where you are forced to enter single player to 'dump' those items onto a character before you can then run another strike team mission.  If you are playing multiplayer all the time and running your strike teams like i am, then you quickly get to 200 on a regular basis.

So into single player i go onto say.. my 2nd playthrough character (lvl 15) and accept all the resources/research/money on him first, that clears a lot, and its a hell of a lot of pressing space as you can't just accept all as your inventory isn't prepped for receiving suddenly over 60 weapons etc.

So yeah ok, lets say they increase the number of strike team missions to double what they are now.. that will be twice the rate you have to go through this reward dumping process.

I do agree there needs to be more.. perhaps say.. 3 or 4 more silver/gold per day would be good, as its more often than not your level 20's that are left with nothing to do.

I'm now running 6/6 strike teams with just 1 team now levelling up.. that team is level 18 now.

I just did the math. To finish maxing out my ultra rare characters I'll need 96 cards. I seem to be able to make roughly 100 mission funds with strike teams each day. 96 cards X 960 MF ÷ 100 MF per day is about 2 years.

Somehow I doubt I'll still care about trying to get my Krogan Gladiator to XX for platinum 2 years from now.

oh right, I thought your complaint was that there were not enough missions to do but it's about how quick you can get your rewards.

I don't think their idea is that you gain all the MP rewards via sending teams to do strike missions. I think they prefer you actually doing MP yourself, so I doubt they'd be upping the rewards for sending strike teams.

Yeah... MEA MP is no Battlefield 4 or Borderlands 2 or Mass Effect 1 or 2 or 3... it's not that high quality nor that complex content... in short we're expected to pay cash money (Andromeda points, I've spent embarrassingly more than 100$) for something that's not really worth the time and effort.

I paid hundreds of dollars for the DLCs for the games I just mentioned and I never felt cheated. I've played BF4 for many, many hours, but the content is massive and the control is great, what I see on the screen, what I do with the controller and what is actually happening on the server are all pretty close, not so with MEA MP.

So it's comparatively like grinding tictactoe for a year to unlock different color Xs and Os. Hey I like MEA MP, I really do, but I've played it for 120 hours and I'm like "ok, I'm a little bored and I'd like to try some of the other characters maxed out, but I can't grind one thing, I have to grind all the things... for over a year..."

(The estimate is 475 hours... that was *before* the 1.09 content weapons and XX character ranks)

***The time and effort to unlock and the price to enable it to be less extreme is out of proportion to the complexity and value of the content.***

I've been happy with all the Mass Effect series until now... but this is a little disappointing.

I'll say this: I do appreciate the changes, I do appreciate being able to buy UR character cards with mission funds now... I just am pretty certain I'll have given up on trying to experience all the content... and if I don't, I doubt many people will be playing MP with me two years from now... it'll be hard to find matches.

... the OP is wishing there were more missions per hour or day so generating mission funds (for character cards) is more feasible for the obsessive grinder who can't play the MP 24/7, that's all.
