Re: [EA app] Mass Effect - Legendary Edition - Achievements don't unlock

@Citizen_Cook This may have been broken, I got it working two days ago on my desktop, but when I tried it today on my laptop, the origin installer seemed to directly install the version that popped up the EA launcher banner. I got around it by copying the origin files from program files and program data from my desktop to my laptop, but I am not sure if this was just a me problem or if its been blocked

  • New solution: download a legacy Origin offline installer (Google is your friend - NOT from EA), when setting up disable auto-updating Origin, make the code changes.

Exactly.😉 There’s a link to an offline launcher in my Steam guide

Commander, You have received a new message at your private terminal!

Wanted to jump on and say HI! 👋` I hope everyone is having an awesome week and have some great weekend plans. Would love to hear all about your current and next galaxy adventures. 🚀🛰️

About these achievements. I've seen some good callouts on steps that have helped which is amazing. Thank you for those. I wanted to let you know that we do have the right folks working on this one. They are being tracked and looked at right now. I like to keep everyone informed and I apologize that I don't have more info to provide but I didn't want to leave everyone hanging.

I love the conversations, I love the engagement, and especially when things work out. I may not be able to respond to everyone but please keep up the good work, send all the workarounds you have, and continue to be rockstars out there!

I am also having this issue with the EA App and achievements after ME1. I have completed both ME1 all side quests and DLC on insanity and only for achievements for ME1.

I do hope this is fixed soon, as I play games just as much for completing achievements as I do for the story. I have over 5000 hours of play on the originals on the Xbox. However, wanted to play via Steam and it’s frustrating this problem has been going on for so long and yet nothing has been done by EA.

When I spoke to EA app support initially they advised they don’t have high enough authority to get this issue raised, but here on the forums the staff have higher roles and can sort the problem.

Let’s hope this gets fixed soon as it’s a joke. Doing the whole game on insanity it hard enough without not gaining the achievements for it. Having completed each game hundreds of times. It still take 46-48 hours worth of play to complete on insanity ensuring all aspects are completed! To have to do it all over again to trigger would be incredibly frustrating.

Let’s hope you do fix this EA. You owe use all that much by forcing the EA app and cancelling origin. Which was a perfect platform and didn’t need removing.

I shall wait to see what happens…

  • Istill waiting for something I already paid for to be fixed... We need a * date!

Imagine this happening in any other industry?
You buy a car and then one day the lights stop working because of an update to an inbuilt and completely unnecessary app. Or you can’t access the special features on your DVD because of an update to your disc drive. We shouldn’t accept this and there should be laws to protect consumers.

Glad to hear this is still being worked on. I'll be waiting for fix from you all until I start playing again. Didn't realize this was a problem until I went to 100% my steam achievements and found this annoying bug.

Hope the dev team gets a fix soon.

Thx, i lost 10 hours of playing already. ME1 worked fine as for all for us. Now this EA app is out since 30 october 2023. Thats 5 month now. Realy? We have to wait 5 month now for a 1 hour fix?

I really hope this does get fixed. I stopped my current playthrough halfway into the 2nd game because I realised achievements stopped popping. I know most people would keep playing and then come back to the game once the fix is through but unfortunately I wouldn't have the time to do that so I'll just wait until the fix comes through. Appreciate you acknowledging this issue and fingers crossed it gets sorted ASAP.

  • Does anyone know if the developers of EA Play are even aware of the issue?

Just wondering, aside from neglect, would make it take this long.

100% they do. But instead of actually fixing it, they're putting their effort into stopping us from using Origin as a workaround.

@CaptainObviousau As u said. Instead of solving problem they make new creative ideas to block every option to use Origin by community. It seems its much easier to block origin than fixing this bug

It is so WEIRD that they take so long to fix the issue tho. People have appearently found out it is something to do with the new EA app forcefully downloading certain savefiles where all the archivements are unlocked. Why cant they just stop the EA app from doing this? How is fixing that more difficult than preventing people from using origin as workaround?
