Just had this problem to. Previously owned ME:A got free Origin Access for 2 months which upgraded the game to deluxe, after the membership expired i could not connect online.
In library, i had 2 icons for MEA (one colored in favorites and one grayed out in "all other games"), i right clicked the grayed out one and choose revert to original version. That did not fix it.
I went to the chat section (not sure if it's of any importance but i choose manage my account/ manage account details as i tried to avoid technical's router reset and all that bs) got someone named Preeti from support, told him/her about my issue, linked this topic and it got solved in a few minutes. It went much smoother then i was expecting after reading the forums.
Thank you Preeti!
How it possible to 100% contact with Preeti ? lol
Got to an agent rather quickly. Linked this thread and explained the issue. Waiting...Copy pasted response how it must be frustrating and asking for details. Explain again how this thread is related and my issue AGAIN. Waiting....another almost seemingly copy pasted response with bad grammar asking for the error message. This time I spell out the solution what should be done. Waiting.....Responds by saying he did something to my account and I should do all this stuff to remove all traces of the game and the client and reinstall and all that jazz, which I did. This took roughly 20 minutes mostly due to pauses...
Aaaaaaaaaand it didn't work. Frankly, I don't care about the online features, I just wanted that annoying waiting for the connection and the error message gone. Oh well. 😞
I'd be less concerned if the online features didn't directly tie in to the single player as most games stupidly do nowadays. The fact that I would be missing out on all the potential gains from using my strike teams is something a little more than annoying. If there's going to be critical features to a game that involve an online connection, you're either going to have to maintain that or patch the game to no longer require it. Mass Effect 3 came out in 2012 and I'm still playing its multiplayer without issue today.
You would think after fixing it for a handful of people there would be some root cause by now and a standardized solution? Downloading 45Gbs of game files every time to do a "Fresh Install" clearly isn't cutting it for most, and as someone with painfully slow internet it's becoming a problem. The spaghetti at the wall approach is clearly not the way to be going about this one.
Hi there, thanks for reaching out to us about Mass Effect: Andromeda and not being able to access multiplayer. We no longer provide support for this title. I must recommend that you consider checking out the game's manual or website for more information. -- Bruce

Apparently, there are lazy people on their Twitter too. I know it's tiresome, but they do have efficient people, you have to be lucky enough to get to them...
For people with this problem, what is the version you own? Deluxe or standard?
I talked to support a dozen times before my issue got solved, and was regranted the Deluxe Edition (which I own) several times unsuccessfully.
What solved it was when someone from tech support granted me the base ME:A game on top of what I own...
