Re: Heads not exploding ME3 (PC - Origin)

I can confirm it is an issue with Keyboard and Mouse. Tried my controller and was popping off heads like it's no ones business. I don't prefer controllers though, so I will be waiting until this is fixed to finish ME3.

Like I said previously about 15 of my 20 play throughs are as infiltrator, so this is a pretty big problem for me haha.

@Thenuge7575Really? So it's the controller or mouse of all things? My god...what kind of bug is this O__O can't assume direct control as well on the game-pad, but if I have to....

Nice to see someone else confirm it, seemed like such an odd bug to have that I thought my game files might be corrupted or something. I just played for about an hour with a keyboard and mouse and saw zero head explosions, then switched back to a controller and got plenty in just the first few minutes.

  • Yeap, using a controller gets you exploding headshots. The moment you touch the mouse, those are gone. Also, the shotguns are not working well with this either, but at least you get some pops. Snipers get the pop every time. Such a weird bug, I hope they fix this, alongside with the bugged achievements.

I'm not going to use a controller, it seems I will have to wait quite a bit, but I hope this get fixed.

This makes me wonder about the bug's nature.

I'm playing ME3 LE on XSX (I'm only at ME1's prologue on PC), so can't test it myself: did you notice a difference in damage output?

I mean, does the game actually register your headshot while using KB&M? Because this might be

    1) just a really weird glitch that only affects a headshot's visible effect, or

    2) a really serious hit detection bug that negates headshot damage altogether.

  • I'm petty sure it registers the headshot, unshielded enemies die instantly and they flop down comically fast. It's hard to explain without visuals, but it's almost fast enough to where they almost feel they've never been standing at all.

  • @felker_s No, I don't believe so. Enemies die with a similar animation like in ME2 - for example with a sniper headshot - they go limp with the head tilting (visuals required, but you understand the gist). A little different for the shotguns, but they are registering as headshots. This is one of the weirdest bugs I've seen in a while.

Same, I'm pretty sure it's registering headshot damage. When you score one, it usually staggers unshielded/unarmored enemies like you'd expect.

It's just when the fatal shot is a headshot, they don't gib when using keyboard and mouse.

The headshots in ME2 (for the mechs) seem to work normally (you blow their heads off and they explode), so it appears to be a weird issue just with ME3.
