Open it with a text editor and make a screenshot of of the 20 first lines.
I think this might be more than 20 lines but here
OK, that config file looks fine.
Try this please: (It is different from the last one.)
Press the Windows key and "X" at the same time > Click on "Command prompt (Administrator)" or "PowerShell (Administrator)"
-
In the CMD or PowerShell window, at the prompt type or copy and paste: takeown /F "xxxxxxxxxxxx" /R (With the quotes. Replace the X with the full path to the C:\Users\>your user name<\Documents. folder.) > hit "ENTER"
- Reboot.
- Test.
If that is also not working:
- Create a new Windows user account. (Administrator account! Don't use special characters in the Username for that account.)
- Reboot > Log on to the new account > Test.

- @holger1405 Ok so I tried running that prompt and here's what happened
The prompt gave me the same as the previous message just a lot more rather than just once.
I started up the game, played till the Lazarus Mission then saved the game. When I opened "load game" in the in-game menu it doesn't show the save or the characters but when I open save game again it shows the current save that I can override. And now in the main menu it does show "Resume" and "Load game" The resume works just fine but the load game shows nothing, but when I press resume it does take me to the same point where I saved the game. So I guess it kinda worked (Honestly better than nothing)
I'm off to bed now so I'll turn off my PC and see if it still shows up tomorrow morning, if it doesn't I'll try the second solution you suggested. Either way, I'll post an update M3asher98
Well, that is a step forward, but not ideal at all.
Please let me know how it goes.
- @holger1405 I can confirm that it's still happening. Load game doesn't show a save but Resume is working, and I still have to manually sign in to EA Online every time but hey as long as I can play ME2 I'm happy.
I have one last question before we end this off. Is there a way for me to make sure my ME2 save will be successfully imported to ME3? Or do I just have to finish 2 and hope it works?
Thank you for everything by the way! Did you tried the new user account?
Do you still run Origin as Administrator?

Thank you for everything by the way!I can't answer this with certainty. That the command worked shows that there is indeed a permissions problem.
If this is purely Windows related or if the game itself, Origin or even a third party app are involved is hard to say. So I can't say if ME3 might be affected as well.
Are "AutoSave.pcsav" created?
- @holger1405 I didn't try the new user method but I did run Origin as Administrator.
Yeah I understand what you're saying
AutoSave.pcsav does exist and it's in the ME2 folder, I'm guessing if anything I can manually import it to ME3?

You should try the new user account, it is really easy to set up and to erase, if it is not working.
- @holger1405 Well I'm currently doing the suicide mission, so I guess we'll have our answer in a couple of hours, hopefully, it works but if it doesn't I'll try making a new user. Thank you for everything! 🙂
