Re: NFS controls are a MESS

@marcelo19941 Hey, I'm not too familiar with this pad, but as I understand it isn't automatically detected as an Xbox pad. Only Xbox controllers are supported by the game, but hopefully this can get running anyway.

I think a situation like yours is due to the controller being detected as a directinput device, not an xinput device. Perhaps if you go to the Control Panel > Device manager you may be able to get it detected as an Xbox pad. Alternatively 3rd party pad configuration options may be the way to go.

  • I am using a Generic USB Gamepad, which I got to work as an XBOX 360 gamepad through X360CE, but the controls have issues, like, for instance, the B button doesn't work, and, wherever I bind the throttle, it gets hit the same time as the brakes, which causes my car to do burnouts with just pressing 1 button.

Regarding the acceleration/breaking issue, I managed to get it to work by pushing the throttle/breaking dead zone to 50% ( first time in any game I had to do this since both gamepads are calibrated ). Anyway ,game is playable now at least. I guess if you've got some gamepad plugged in it also breaks the controls if you're using the keyboard.

It gave me the opportunity to tour the amazing environment/world... and almost crash into one of the guys racing online... probably killed his chances to win... whoever you are, sorry mate 🙂

    Still nothing...
I guess I'll have to resort to something like Joytokey or sth...
Joke's on me for expecting a 2016 game to work as it's intended at launch, it seems.....

    -UPDATE-
The game seems to detect my gamepad through x360ce, but I tried to bind some keys to the steering wheel tab without x360ce , and it saw my gamepad. My guess is that the game detects the gamepad as a steering wheel and it conflicts with the gamepad keys. I'll see if I can do anything about it.

  • Got the same problems as everybody else with my Steam Controller, have to lock Throttle/Break Dead Zone at 50% or they are active all the time and the B and X buttons do something they shouldn't, B is acting like ESC and X like SELECT. And yes they are configured as Xbox buttons and the game interface doesn't switch to keyboard so they are recognized as such, just do the wrong stuff.

If they don't add Xbox360 controller support, a lot of people are going to be disappointed, including me. I can't play with any gamepad, not even using Xpadder or JoytoKey, because the game detects my generic USB gamepad as a steering wheel, causing all sorts of disturbance....

@Krozius could not agree more with you man. The controls were already wanky to begin with when the game released. Now its just straight up broken.

    *Fixed my problem.

I had to turn up deadzone settings of the RaceWheel options. Even if you have no RaceWheel connected you need to do that. My 360 pad works normal now.

But my Wrap editor UI is still bugged

None of these fixes works. Tom i would like to thank you for reminding me why we shouldn't buy EA games. It's been a long time since I bought a EA game and I forgot why I shouldn't buy your games anymore.
Instead of fixing the problems with your games you just blame on the controllers.
But I won't make this mistake again, thank you for reminding me!
