Re: DirectX Error

Hi, I had the same problem yesterday. (18.01.2018) I tried everything that you tried, nothing worked for me either. But as I was just * around in NVIDA Control Panel I noticed that the settings for 3D was set to every game no matter what in a wierd kinda way to explain it. So I set it to "let the program choose". Then the game started slowly and after 2 minutes it was up and running! It looked like NVIDA was forcing the game to run in 3D but my PC couldn't do it, now that the game isn't running in 3D it works fine! Might work for you too? GTX 760 is my card, and I'm running DirectX 12. (W10)

I'm having the same issue too and i think that we need to set a launch option(command line argument) to force nfs payback to launch in dx 11 mode.

I had Payback working and then installed the latest version of Geforce and after that I was getting this error.

After 2 hours of looking through the forums I did 2 things

    1. Repair the VCRedist install for VC2013 (I ran the installer in the __Installer folder and selected repair)

    2. Ran the task manager and killed teamviewer (I come across this before)

    and boom. The game runs.

  • I turned off the overclock of the GPU and the game start to work correctly. Only this can help! Not drivers, software and such. things...

It's stupid not to allow the overclocking of the gaming PC components in AAA-game...
