First off, I suggest learning the regular controls and not classic. It all depends on if you're talking about offline playing by yourself, and also versus, where you control all the players, or if you're position locking, playing as one player. Which would also be like EASHL, where you play only one position.

To do a wrister, one-timer, with the intended shooter, you hit the right stick up before the puck gets to the shooter. In OTP, if someone passes to you, same concept, hit the right stick up before you get it. A slap shot you can simply hit the right stick up twice or you can wind up and hold right stick down then when it's coming toward your player, hit up once. This one takes a little better timing. Be sure to hold L2 online while you do this if playing OTP so the game won't think you're wanting to hit the closest opponent so you won't get an interference minor.
