Re: A.I in NHL 24 EASHL seems to lack any basic Hockey I.Q

Hi there, @Certified_Seca26

Thanks for the feedback on this. You're not the only one that has had trouble with the AI players. There's obviously room for improvement. It would be good to get some video of what's happening though. Feel free to gather some and link it in a response. In the meantime, can you tell me what strategies you're using? I very often have an AI D partner. Using High Pressure helps them to play more aggressively which tends to be more proactive rather than having them give opponents easy entry into our zone.

I haven't noticed a lot of passes in front of the net. I think this also has to do with my teammates being conscious of creating open lanes so they're a good option for passes.

Something else to consider is the positioning of the human players. For example, if you're an RW, constantly going out of position on the left is going to cause the AI to shift and cover the open space. They aren't going to be in the best positioning to make the best plays.

    @EA_Aljo One thing the AIs are really bad at is passing. It feels like they never pass the puck soon enough and they always wait till you're at the opposing blue line stopped up with no momentum, instead of passing normally while you're in stride.

    Ofcourse if the call for pass actually worked correctly this would not be a problem however, every time you call for pass from an AI they pass the puck where you were instead of where you are going, they also seem to never have the correct amount of power on the pass for the situation you are in. For example if I am completely up the ice and call for it, they often send up a dribbling pass that barely makes it where as when I am directly next to an AI or behind them and call for it(for example trailing them on a zone entry), then when I call for it, it whistles past me with max power and goes from the offensive end to behind the net in the defensive zone. If this was fixed it would make playing with AIs much more tolerable.

    @HighTmatthew

    I've seen them make inaccurate passes as well. I also see humans make inaccurate passes. I get they're computers, but they also aren't meant to make perfect passes every time. Regardless, I know it's frustrating. I still see them make more good than bad passes though. Just my personal experience. Not saying there are no issues here.

    @EA_Aljo I get that, the one pass though, I quite literally have never seen work, is if you are within 8-10 feet of them and you call for it. They are okay at the breakout passes but they are truly terrible at making short passes when you call for it, on a level that is far beyond normal. Even the most new human player with almost no knowledge of the controls would be better at these passes.
