Re: Local 2 player online versus

Hey @raatboi,

Just to clarify - you want to play Online Versus with your friend on your team and play against people online, yes?

You have to have both controllers signed into an account.  Guest will not work.

Here are the steps:

  • Plug in a 2nd controller to your PS4
  • When you turn on the 2nd controller, sign into a profile that has a PSN account (this account doesn't have to have PS+, so you can just make a free PSN account if you don't already have a second one)
  • With the 1st controller, go to Online Versus
  • Advance to the Game Setup screen
  • Press L1 to add a friend
  • Select "Add Controllers"
  • With the 2nd controller, press [X]
  • With the 1st controller, press [Circle]
  • Move the 2nd controller to your team's side of the screen
  • You're done!

    Hi,

Yea, we would play online versus on my machine against other people that are online. Right now, I'm paying for two PSN+ Accounts because I can't seem to get it to work otherwise.

Just kinda sucks because we are paying for a second PSN+ Account for someone who doesnt live in the same house and doesnt own a PS4, so they can only use it when they come over.

    @raatboi

I apologize for the confusion, however as I stated in my first reply, the 2nd controller just needs to be signed into a profile with a PSN account.  It doesn't have to have PS+.  Just the 1st controller has to be signed into a PS+ profile.

I tried that and I got an error that says insufficient privileges. Which lead me to come here.

I've been paying for two psn+ accounts because I kept running into this issue.

If you follow the steps in my first reply, you will only require one account with PS+.  The 1st controller.  The 2nd controller doesn't need PS+, but just needs to be signed into a normal PSN account.
