Product: Apex Legends

Please specify your platform model. PC
AMD or Nvidia Model Number amd 3800xt / ASUS ROG 3080
Enter RAM memory size in GB 64
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? DM18
Please provide your squad mates' gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name if possible.
Are you using any software with an overlay? No
Which Legend were you playing (if applicable)?
Which Legends were your squad mates using (if applicable)?
Where did the issue occur? In a match
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. Using Razer Viper 8k at 8,000 Hz setting
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. moving mouse while at 8,000 Hz
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? No
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? 0
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) on going
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Major impacts to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? moving mouse causes frame rates to drop, probable because apex can't handle 8,000 Hz input
What should be happening instead? frames should not be dropping by moving mouse
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Get a mouse that supports 8 Hz, set it to use 8 Hz. move mouse around quickly.

Example of 8,000 Hz mouse polling bug in action. Just moving the mouse back and forth.
Notice there is no change in GPU or CPU usage, no heavy gpu/cpu usage.
Issue happens at 4,000 Hz as well.

Issue does not happen at 1,000 and 2,000 Hz.

Issue is not specific to razer, and happens with any brand of mouse that supports 4,000 Hz or better.

That's like telling people there no reason to to go beyond an Intel Core i3, with 2GB of ram, GT 640. Or we should all just use 30Hz, 30ms persistence,100Ms delay monitors. Or just use a 100 gram, 400 DPI, 100 Hz mouse, with 40% drift.

Going forward, I wouldn't be surprising if all new corsair, razer, Logitech mic and keyboards are 8,000 Hz. Maybe not for budget products, but defiantly for performance products.

  • I have an 5800x  and i can go up to 4000hz. 8000hz has mini stutters.  You have an 5600x so maybe thatswhy u cant go higher than 2khz.
i think 4khz is a sweet spot. 0.25ms input lag only. 8khz has 0.125 , so the difference is negligible. you wont feel it.
