Re: Can’t join my friends parties

Hi @viperjj9

Are your friends also playing on PS4, or are they sending invites from a different platform?

  • My friend (Friend-A) is also experiencing this issue. He's on PS4 and when he accepts invites from either me (On PC) OR our other friend (Friend-B, On PS4) he can NOT join us. I can accept Friend-B's invites and he can accept mine but Friend-A simply can not join us no matter what he does.

    Got it, thanks!

Can you ask your friend to double-check his privacy settings and make sure they're set up to allow invites? I've seen some cases where that can interfere with crossplay invites.

  • He's checked every possible solution. Changing privacy setting, resetting his console and internet, joining a game and leaving etc. The problem occurs randomly. Some days we can play several games in a row, some days we get into one game and he's no longer in the match. Often times we'll load into a game (sans friend) but he'll still show up in the party in the lobby on our end but if we leave to make a new party he can't join our new one.

Just to confirm, you and your friends accounts aren't linked up to the same EA Account?

    Got it, thanks again!

Do you know if either you or your friend are using a child account?

    /Kent

  • I can't be sure but I doubt he is. I don't even think he's touched his ea account beyond doing whatever was necessary to add me as a cross play friend.

  • @EA_Kent Also I want to be clear. Neither me (on PC) or my other friend (also ps4) can invite him. Even if my other ps4 friend invites JUST him and not me he can NOT join.

    Hmm, that's really strange.

If it happens with other people when they try to invite this same friend, there might be something going on with his account that isn't allowing the invites to come through. I think it would be best to have your friend try reaching out to the EA Help team so they can pull up his account and take a look.

For more details on how to set up a case with them check out the EA Help website. The EA Help team also works on Twitter and Facebook as well, if that works better.

  • @EA_Kent I'll let him know thanks. But it's weird like I mentioned some days we can play several games in a row with no issue then suddenly we queue and he's not in the match anymore and can't rejoin us.

It definitely is odd. Do you ever notice this happening on the first match of the day, or is it only after you come back to the lobby after finishing a game?

    @Shklooshkan

Gotcha. I have seen some cases where if you try to queue immediately after coming back to the lobby it can cause things like this to happen. Sometimes you might need to wait a bit before queueing up again when you come back. If you give it, let's say, 30 seconds does this still happen?

    /Kent

  • @EA_Kent Yeah no amount of waiting, resetting consoles or any other tricks work. We're pretty much done for the night once it happens.
