Re: Crashes connection errors and single time sound problem

Hey @velvetblur

I took a look at the DxDiag you attached, and I noticed that a process called audiodg.exe has been crashing. This is a Windows process called Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation, which is required for sound to run through Windows. If this process is crashing that could be related to the problems you've been seeing in Apex Legends.

When you've got a chance I'd recommend running the Windows System File checker on your PC to see if it's able to locate any problems. If there is an issue with corrupted system files that might do the trick.

You can find more info on how to run it over at the Microsoft Support Website. Let me know how that goes when you have a chance to give it a shot.

Thanks!

  • Okay so I followed through with system file checker and it didnt find any integrity violations.

I streamed the other day and noticed a few other odd issues. I was getting a stable frame rate with effects running fine but was lagging hard during a game where my ping was fairly low. and I had issues with the sound again.

Oddly enough a quick fix to getting the sound back into my headset without closing the game was to unplug and re plug headset. But not only does my headset lose sound my stream does too.

Im grasping at straws but I have live stream evidence now. If stream footage is something you review I can show you several bugs I encountered. in the stream ill look for and mark the timestamps to including the above lag issue the sound issue an issue connecting to the lobby post game, an issue where it tell us we are the champions despite not having done anything to earn it(explicitly stating my friend who hadnt won anything as the cause), and an issue where it was struggling to send invites to a friend who was in the lobby but it told me they were in a match for more than 30 seconds without that being true and them having stream proof also.

In my stream that I am not willing to find to timestamp like an extended light mag dropping and falling through the floor far enough to become unobtainable

Also if possible I would prefer to share the twitch link to you on a business email, call me paranoid but I would prefer not to leave it here. I am a small lgbt streamer and would prefer to avoid anyone causing a fuss if its as simple as email.

I understand. Your privacy is important, and I don't want you to feel like you have to share anything you wouldn't be comfortable posting.

While I don't have an email address I can provide, you're welcome to send me a link via direct message so it's not publicly visible.

    Hey @velvetblur

I got the video you sent me. I appreciate that! It looks like there might be a couple different issues happening at the same time.

The sound issue you mentioned might be related to your audio drivers. I'm not sure if it was just your video capture, but I did notice that your mic appeared to cut out at the same time as the game audio. It seems like this issue isn't just isolated to the game, if that's the case. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling your audio drivers in Windows to see if that helps at all with the sound issues? For more info on how you can reinstall them check out the Microsoft Support website. The Fix Your Audio Drivers section there has steps on how to uninstall and reinstall them.

The other issues you were having look like they're more connection-related. Can we try some connection troubleshooting steps to see if it helps at all? A good place to begin would be with the basic connectivity steps over at the EA Help site. Those can tackle a lot of the more common issues we see, but if you're still having issues after that the PC-Specific steps may help as well.

Let me know if that helps at all with the connection issues you've been getting. Thanks!

    /Kent
