@xXStatelessXxEnergy guns are the new meta. The situation you're describing is exactly the same thing that happened to me. The person most likely had a strike pack mod. I didn't notice it anymore after that one game though.
Give it 7 days and the loot pool will be a lot more varied and a lot less chaotic.
Energy guns were the meta in Season 4, they realized how dumb it was and got rid of turbo and actually balanced them, just to reverse it all again one season later? The devs are a joke and love the idea of spray and pray vs actually aiming to hit your shots.
