Strafing against a shotgun is not the ideal way to avoid damage, especially with the opponent having AA.
Jumping is more effective....but also try to keep adding distance between you.
I too feel like the Eva 8 is stronger this season for some reason. I never used to use it because compared to PK and Mastiff...it really was a joke. But now it seems to be stronger and usable.
I am not saying it is too strong....just stronger than it was. I feel the issue with shotguns in general in this game is they have too much damage beyond what is a believable shotgun range.

It 100% needs a damn nerf. Its the new Mastiff, except worse as its quicker to empty into players and reload.
It also has little difference in shooting delay with or without a bolt of any level on it.
Its nearly impossible to empty a mag into someone when they're someone who's good at shotguns. 63 damage to the body as well.
Sure, shotguns should do good bit of damage, the problem is, shotguns shouldn't be able to go *bam*, *bam*, *bam*, *bam*, like its sonic. On top of that, (I tested it in the firing range) around point blank, up to around 15-20 meters, you can land all the bullets onto a player and deal the full 63 damage. Shotguns are suppose to be up-close range, not further away, and some people even snipe with shotguns, which shouldn't be possible.
Legit the only balanced shotgun is the Mozam, as it takes 5 shots to the body to even fully kill a purple armored player. What's stupid is that (I tested it as well), Mozam and EVA fire at the exact same speeds and slowly gets faster with each shotgun bolt level. Meaning, you can either have 6 shots and deal 45 to the body, having to reload after every knock, or deal 63 damage and have to reload after every 2 knocks, assuming you didn't miss.
Shotguns shouldn't be OP weapons that people can just whip out when they're about to die to briefly tap and get "easy" kills with. While we're on weapon issues, the Spitfire needs to be properly nerfed as well. I don't know what happened to the EVA this season, but last season, I could of sworn it did less damage and had a longer delay between shots. Some Dev clearly wasn't thinking if they made this change.
63 x 4 = 252 damage, which means even with Red Evo, EVA can still delete you in 4 hits.
