Octane buff idea

I, an octane main, have been reading and doing research on octane and here is what I have thought about for a buff.

1) Octane uses a device that filters stim through his body (or so I’ve heard) and on top of that he has designed robotic legs that helps him with speed and one of his quotes is something along the lines of “the next ring is far, if you don’t have robotic legs you need to move!” Not to ditch on revenant or pathfinder but something I notice is that he has springs on the heels of his legs. It would be cool if he had a higher base speed than the other legends.

2) His jump pad is iffy, with it being only good for getting high ground if by a building or cliff but nothing else really. I can’t remember where I saw this but someone had the idea that if you slide into the pad it would launch you forward, if you would run into it you would get not as much distance but a little more hight, and if you jump into it, it would launch you further upwards than outwards. I also saw that people didn’t like how the pad was considered a “sitting duck tool” where when used, you had no mobility when in the air until you landed. Adding to that there is the recovery from the long fall that can also screw people over. An idea that can fix this is that the pad is changed to let the player strafe in the air more with specific momentum the way your moving but you can stop yourself or turn entirely to change where you land.

3) addition to #1, if he is generally faster, his stim should add into that speed (also seen from another post) and the example given was if his base speed was 10% faster, and the stim gives a 30% speed boost, then he should have in total a 40% boost which can change the way people play him. Something that might help is that he is not as badly slowed by bullets, maybe when shot take his stim speed down by 10-20% which in turns still makes him 120-130% faster. I don’t know how much the other legends are slowed, but it will still slow octane when shot other than Gibraltar or caustic with the fortified perk.

4) I don’t many have ideas on how his ultimate could change but I feel that it can be improved to be more user friendly rather than giving the enemy an advantage. (I don’t think I’ve had the problem of being shot in the air myself so I don’t know if it is that bad.)

I know it’s long but other ideas/comments about changes would be nice as well as thoughts on changes to the ideas posted.

Thanks!
