Proposal for an outline of a zero-sum game system(Amended2025/04/08)
The following is based on the new rank ranges I proposed in another post.
It is assumed that it will be a challenging element to play with. And since there are many things that you won't know until you try it out, it might be a good idea to test it as an event in parallel with the current ranking system.
- Available to play when a certain number of Master IV players are reached.
- When you reach Master IV, you will be awarded 1,300 points in addition to your rank points (the points awarded are yet to be determined; tentatively they will be called "stardust points" (SP)). Rank points will not disappear, but they will not affect your ranking.
- Only players with Master IV or above can participate. Even if they are in a full party, players below Master IV cannot participate.
- There is no participation fee. However, if a team is wiped out, each player will lose 13 SP. Consumed SP will be distributed based on ranking rewards, kills, assists, and damage amount.
- The SP values given are fixed as follows: Rank: 6 SP, Kill: 2 SP, Assist: 1 SP. The remaining SP is distributed to the players who dealt the damage in proportion to the damage dealt.
- To determine the ranking, more than 20 zero-sum game plays are required.
[SP distribution mechanism]
- Points are distributed when the champion for that match is decided (they will not be consumed or distributed in the event of a server crash, etc. This means that measures to prevent server crashes due to cheating and strengthening servers are essential).
- 2 SP is awarded to the player who makes a kill, and 1 SP is awarded to the assist (this is awarded to the team that made the first kill. Subsequent kills will be explained later).
- After the points for kills and assists are distributed from the 13 SP, the remaining SP is distributed based on the percentage of damage dealt (this does not include damage dealt to downed opponents, but does include damage dealt to revived opponents). This is distributed not only to the team that got the last kill, but also to all other teams that dealt damage. (This is because we believe that dealing damage is an important factor in preventing stealing from other teams and also consumes supplies.)
- If the team that downed the opponent is wiped out before confirming the kill, and another team wipes out the survivors of the opposing team, no one will get the kill or assist for the downed opponent. However, 7 SP will be distributed based on the damage percentage, excluding the 6 SP for ranking reward.
- When distributing SP based on damage, the last remaining SP is given to the player who dealt the most damage. Therefore, if the amount of damage dealt is small, no SP may be distributed (such as when 2 SP are shared among 3 or more players).
- Even if there are only two people in a team when the ranking is decided due to an internet disconnection, etc., the SP distributed based on ranking will be divided into thirds (to prevent allies from illegally increasing their SP by intentionally disconnecting). No SP will be distributed to players who disconnected, but 13 SP will be consumed (to prevent players from earning ranking SP by simply participating and then disconnecting). However, SP distribution based on kills, assists, and damage will be given to disconnected players when the champion is decided (to provide relief for players who are disconnected due to accidents and to simplify the system. Conversely, it will need to be considered if it becomes too complicated).
- If a player is killed and revived, then killed again, the killed player will have to pay off the kill and assist points earned by the opposing team as a debt. This debt cannot be paid off with SP. It can only be paid off with kills and assists. In other words, you cannot earn SP from kills or assists until your debt is cleared.
- If a revived teammate is downed and killed within 30 seconds of reviving, the debt will be distributed between the revived player and the killed player (whether it is within 30 seconds is determined at the time of downing. This is to prevent abuse of the system to lower the ranking of teammates). Therefore, there are risks involved in reviving, so you need to think carefully before reviving.
- When the SP owned is the same, the ranking is determined by whether or not there is a debt from being killed after revival. After that, the ranking is determined in the following order: number of champions, number of kills, number of assists, total damage, and number of times played in Zero-Sum Game Ranked (the more the higher the ranking).
- If your SP falls below 0, it will become negative (it's a challenge because there is a risk, and the dream is to succeed).
[Solo matching method]
- Random matching with players of similar ranks.
- Avoid having the same player on the same team consecutively.
- After ranking, matching is determined by the closeness of rank bands.
- We will try to match players with solo players as much as possible, but will prioritize matching with players in the same rank range regardless of whether it is full party, duo, or solo (to prevent SP farming at low ranks).
[Full party matching method]
- The rank range for matching will be determined based on the highest-ranked player on the team.
- We will try to match with full parties whenever possible, but will prioritize matching with players in the same rank range regardless of whether it is a full party, duo, or solo (to prevent SP farming at low ranks).
[Duo matching method]
- The rank range for matching will be determined based on the highest-ranked player on the team.
- The third player will be matched with a player close to the average ranking of the duo (please do not play on the same team with the same player consecutively)
- We will try to match players with duos or full parties whenever possible, but will prioritize matching players in the same rank range regardless of full party, duo, or solo (to prevent SP farming at low ranks).
[Expected issues]
- Depending on the region, there may be disparities in how easily it is possible to improve your ranking.
- It is possible that players who play fewer times are more likely to rank higher (there is a possibility that many players will end up with a lower SP than the initial value of 1300).
[SP distributed according to ranking]
Champions can obtain the following SP without consuming SP
