The dps on the spitfire is garbage, the only good thing it has going for it is it’s hip fire. There are a lot better options out there. It seems pretty abnormal you’d complain about it being op when it’s the other way around.

  • @xx_Dante2k_xx is right. The low rate of fire is why it has a huge mag. The only way I can actually drop people is by headshots, or if they are just bad... But 9/10 times I have dropped people by headshots - and even then, I have to heal right away.

I think the spitfire is perfect where it is.

Nah it’s pretty bad, even with a huge mag, much rather use a Flatline, Hemlok, or a Prowler. It’s the type of gun you pick up early game, then immediately switch it out for something better. I’m sure respawn could give it a reasonable buff.

Idk why it’s a thread though because it obviously doesn’t need a nerf, its nerfed enough as it is.

  • I'm sorry, but the hipfire is absolutely bad since the last nerf. It's not a good close-quarters weapon and if it hadn't that many bullets it would lose pretty much every close fight especially since you have to ADS to hit bullets and ADS makes you almost stand still. But mid range....RATATATATAT. But I agree, I don't understand complaints about it tbh.

@Houdini_Hank Nah man, it feels absolutely awful to play against spitfire players. The spit is the most lazy weapon apex has to offer atm, it has zero recoil, huge mags. The DPS isn't bad either, 171 spitfire vs 182 r301 vs 190 flatline. Every winning squad above plat runs at least 2 spits.
  • Its underpowered but at the same time steady firing and low fire rate unlike the devotion is of anything it should have a dps buff for the lack of fire rate to say win against a squad of nothing but r-99s that everyone is mostly top players are running 2 of them.

@Az-Laar-yagami I wouldn't say that the Spitfire needs a DPS buff.

It takes 6.06 seconds to empty a clip of 55 bullets.
If all of these hits are bodyshots, that is 1045 damage.
This means you have a 174.16 damage per second.

If all of those hits were headshots, it would be 2090 damage.
This would mean that it would have 348.33 damage per second.

Naturally one would not hit 55 headshots in a row unless he was cheating. But say 50% are headshots if you get lucky.
That would amount to 1567.5 damage which yields 261,25 damage per second.

This is, if my math checks out, plenty of DPS.
Sure, it's slower than a real life M249, but a lot more accurate.

spitfire is fine as it is.

it shines at midrange and provides constant suppression fire.

    players have to respect it.

(which should be the case for every weapon in specific situations)

while having relatively low DPS compared to every AR, SMG and shotguns.

so in close combat it loses against a lot of weapons. not just in terms of dps, but also in terms of ADS movementspeed and reload-time.

yes, the very fast reload time of the other weapons is important to mention, because you can outplay the spitfire.

engage near a wall or obstacle, lose your mag, get to cover, fast reload, repeat.

that is how you outplay that gun. it is a skill to know when and how to engage players and certai weapons,

its not just aim and movement.

the problem is not the spitfire. the problem is teams of 3 players all wielding a r99 + shotgun and having literally no answer to the spitfire,

    whilche charging in blindly.
