I disagree that the game absolutely needs solos and I really think it was built from the ground up to be a team game. That said, I don't see the harm in them adding in solo queue.
Is it really that hard to deal with randoms though? Most people I run into are pretty nice and helpful. Definitely a lot of fresh noobs but we kind of all are right now. If your teammates are really bad and you aren't able to carry you just die and move on to the next match. Not that difficult to deal with imo...
What we have: huge map with loot all over it.
What majority of players do: land with 10 other squads at market/blue zone and get stomped.
Yeah dude, it's nice to have teamplay, but you can't rely on randoms. And yes, i've already met situations when you survive because of brain realising that's your only spawn left and lose final "ring" due to enemy having full teem or two.
It's just like that: you land as group of 3, but one take 2 pistols and ammo for them, othernguys runs around taking every ammo pack he sees. Sooo... You just have to either fight melee vs shotguns or run away for gun and thus being alone vs enemy team.
That's why solos will be great - because they will be fair
