The game now is even more messy...

"Feedback" – So I guess this is for Respawn and EA.
Users: Add your 5 cents if you want, but don’t complain about the below text as this is an opinion... I have mine, you have yours... So.. here’s mine:

This game was awesome in Season 1—a breath of fresh air. Over the years, it changed for the worse. And just when I thought we'd hit rock bottom (the last few seasons), you people proved me wrong…

 

Why is this game bad?

Not because you aren’t pathetically idolizing Fortnite or other trash games. Apex had its own identity, and it was great as it was. The real problem has always been:

Potato servers – Worse every season, degrading the experience to a nightmare of giant hiccups, instant deaths from "13-bullet" combat logs, and even though all games are a mess, 1 in 10 even has massive lags with all kind of red error markers (most often packet loss).
Joke-tier netcode, or "optimizations" messing things up and only there to compensate #1 (can't tell, I'm not a Respawn programmer - luckily)
Horrible bugs that never get fixed – Like often not hearing footsteps as by game-logic, it's miles more important to hear that detonation 100 blocks away, than the guy running up to me from behind and is 10 steps away, just to mention one (R-99: The Lagspike Generator, or chocked shotgun pellets could be #1 or #2, can't tell)
Cheaters running wild, even on consoles – 99% of players have zero recoil. Sure, "skill"… for a few. But for everyone? Even those who otherwise aim & play like a braindamaged gibbon? C'mon...

That’s it. That’s the full list! It’s that simple. Not even woketardness ruined the game as it runs kinda under the carpet...


Sure, there's a lot more for "fine tuning" but that's preference I guess (e.g. lowering the audible range of firefights to lower 3rd party backstabs and by that, "enlarge the map" & increase players per game to 96 or 102, same hitbox sizes with similar character sizes, cam. is not above the head, so nobody can shoot without exposing oneself, ranked duos -maybe even remove ranked trios-, bring arenas back(!!!), etc.)

 

And now… this TTK nonsense?

I have to assume it’s just more of #1 again.
Fewer bullets fired == even weaker servers can handle it. No need to fix the netcode. But it completely destroys the game’s playstyle (who cares as longmoney is raining, right? Why $5.852B annualy -EA, 2024- is not enough exactly?!?!).

  • Healing or getting away? Not a thing anymore. The whole squad is dead for sure.
  • Combat res? Nope. Even Lifeline’s short animation takes too long for this HRARARADEAD! creph...
  • Reacting to 3rd to nTH squad joingin the fight? Forget it, ur dead before you could
    etc....

All in all, if the player base is shrinking, maybe fix the game instead of making it worse. Upgrade the servers. Improve tick rate. I wouldn’t even mind a monthly fee—IF AND ONLY IF the game actually ran smoothly...

If it’s about money, maybe people aren’t spending because all the store offers is boring creph for far too much money.

I played Fortnite a bit after zero build was added (until they ruined that too: magic car kills everything, magic auto-cannon kills everything, whoa Godzilla kills everything.... just let players shoot each other, FFS - same goes for this game...), and even though it's just 1% of my Apex playtime, I spent more money on Fortnite than I ever did on Apex. Why? Because they sell FUN stuff.

For example, I'd give money for e.g. clown shoes. Can be put on on any character, big, ugly, and instead of normal footsteps, one wearing it gives that silly, typical clown horn sound. I know it's stupid. That's the whole point! I'm a grown arse man but a gamer, and all gamers want is having fun... Not a millionth dumb skin,

but especially not struggling in a laggy nightmare of instant deaths, hiccups, getting bullets through a wall due to desync between players, and so on...

This is my 5 cents... and it's still not too late to invest in this game and Make Apex Great Again (TM), as all competiton sucks for one thing or another (which is another very good reason not to fanboi over those...)

  • Agree with almost all of that. But I especially liked the theory about "fewer bullets fired is easier on the servers." I was saying the same thing years ago when Halo dropped the iconic battle rifle for the DMR. Not saying that was the sole reason why Halo started slipping but it sure didn't help. And it sure isn't helping here either. Good call.
