I saw some great points made....
In my opinion if the Respawn Devs are as competent as they appear, they will eventually add cross platform to ensure the longevity of the game. Remember when Fortnite announced cross platform and people went crazy? I would expect to see them integrate C&R in the next year.
Cross progressions means they would lose out in the money it takes to play different accounts on different platforms. If you think about it from a business standpoint cross progression is bad for business. That’s why you will never see it in a game from EA. Just being realistic.
I would like to submit a counter to this post. I just think that if they made cross progression I would be more willing to keep paying for a season pass. If you create more opportunities for me to play, you are creating more opportunities for me to give you money. I am currently playing on PC with a season one pass. Basically, all of my PC friends have moved on from APEX but I have tons of Xbox friends who have continued to play. I would love to keep playing Apex but as of now, I don't want to have to buy the battle pass on PC but I don't want to start all over on Xbox.
It goes hand in hand with the price of epic skins. From a business standpoint can you price skins at $18 and make more money then if you price skins at $5. I personally would be more willing to spend $5 on a few great skins than $18 on one. Take League of Legends as an example. I wouldn't put down money for a Braum skin that was $10 but as soon as it went on sale for $5 I couldn't pass it up. I put $20 into my League account and know that I have put more money in since. In the long run, Riot has made more money off me (and I'm sure many other people) from selling us a lot of cheap skins vs. a few very expensive skins.
How this isn't possible is mind boggling. Epic didn't release their game to cross play in the beginning yet pulled this feat off flawlessly. Why does something so important to fans of Apex seem to not be a priority at all for EA or Respawn? It is sickening to see them releasing more and more "cash grab" content while ignoring a serious concern for a lot of us fans. EA literally killed this game by releasing a battle pass before cross play.
We're no priority, we're (let me quote) "FREELOADERS"! How fool I was happily planning to spend 120 eur on the next collection event (Fight or Fright) but they kept the lootboxes at 7eur instead of droping to 4-5 as community asked. There will be no cross platform progression, there will only be greed!
- @xNitroHazardx same... please ea do your job
- @ThyLordAngel I hope so
It would make perfect sense to me to incorporate cross-platform progression especially where the ability to link XBL & PSN accounts to your Origin & EA accounts is already there. I have my gamertag linked on EA’s website so why not sync my progress between platforms? It sounds like a perfectly reasonable and easy to implement update (in contrast to the benefit it would give players).
Furthermore, handfuls of people would play Apex Legends over other games like Fortnite if their purchases were synced between platforms. I’m not suggesting the game be cross-platform playable (XBL vs PSN vs PC), though that would be nice too. I’m simply suggesting that game progress and purchases be synced between platforms so that those who decide to switch between consoles can carry on where they leave off without having to run multiple accounts and unlock things they’ve already worked for.
If Minecraft & Fortnite can do it, so can Apex Legends. Neither Minecraft or Fortnite started as cross-platformers, but look at the huge impact it made when they decided to incorporate the concept, and they did so rather easily it would seem.
Developers, please prioritize this! The payoff will be huge!
If fortnite did it how is it impossible? You really don't know what the word impossible means do you
so you have refreshed stats and the stuff you bought isnt there anymore?
