I don't get the current gamer generation, are you playing games because the actual gameplay is fun or just to unlock stuff? Anyway, i said that already in an other thread. I would love to buy skins or whatever to support the developer, but loot boxes are just gambling and skins for >11$ when currency packs either cost 10 or 20 $ are almost a scam.
@Tensai_Zoo A sense of progression is a core part of almost all games. In single player you play through the story, in RPGs you level up, get stronger and get better loot, in these kinds of games all sense of progression is getting loot boxes, especially if there's no competitive part to the game and matchmaking is just completely random.
The gameplay is fun but you generally want to have something worthwhile to work towards from playing, and simply the chance to get the "You are the Champions" screen once in a while isn't that.

I guess i am a very different type of gamer then.. i always enjoyed games for their gameplay. That's might be due to mulitplayer games when i grew up did not have any reward system (counter strike, unreal tournament, CnC, AoE etc.).I can't enjoy games that have medicore gameplay and try to make up for it with a loot system. I hate grinding.

@Tensai_Zoo There's fun in simply getting better at the game too, but that's not enough for everyone to keep playing. "What am I getting better for?" basically.

I find the thrill in competing against other players, i get better to be better than them. That's why i play PvP in the first place. If i want to unlock fancy stuff i can do that in many other pve/single players which revolve round that. I mean, what do you do when everything is unlocked? Stop playing?
