Posting this everyday until I get a response. Day#2

So yesterday I had a game with [REMOVED] as my teammate, he called me a * and laughed at me.
This is without question abusive behaviour. For some reason it was directed towards me without any doubt.
So I reported him for "Inappropriate chat". I do this daily, and I always get the response; "We didn't take ANY action".

Today I received the outcome of my report. It was as follows; We reviewed your report and didn’t take any action this time.

Edit: Removed player ID. Per the Answers HQ rules, please do not "name and shame". -CM

@JamieFameFlame I mainly look out for myself in matches, (meaning I do what I can to stay alive). If the team seems like they're trying, (and they're working with me to some degree), I do try to work with them as well.

I've also had to deal with toxic players, from players throwing the match, to running off solo, to name calling, etc. In the end, I can't do much about players who get themselves eliminated on purpose during a match, (besides reporting them for "sabotage", if it was clear that it was their intention to ruin the match for their teammates).

Furthermore, I remember making a thread asking for an option to auto mute players, so we wouldn't have to keep manually muting teammates at the start of the match, (or during the match when they start being toxic). To my surprise, Respawn did add this setting in.

Under the first settings tab labeled "Gameplay", there's an option called "Communication Filter". Set this setting to "Friends Only" or to "No One", (mine for example, is set to "Friends Only").

In short, you can't control what teammates do and don't do, but you can at least block their voice/text chat. Ever since I've turned the "Communication Filter" on to "Friends Only", I haven't had an issue with teammates. Some randoms do still throw the match, but it has less of an impact, now that I don't have to hear or read what they have to say along with it.

  • Reporting does nothing. If they started using their report system all the cheaters and griefers would be banned. Then no one would be playing anymore since only cheaters play this game. Hence, they can't ban anyone or the game is no more.

    @Player_8tdssoqv
I appreciate your thoughts on the matter.
What do you mean by the online system?

I don't believe in fighting fire with fire. I honestly refuse to sit and yell at someone or trash talk someone who has already yelled or trashtalked.
Though it happens once in a while, no one is perfect.

I followed @Midnight9746 's advice and adjusted my filter, which so far has resulted in a win and generally some good games.
I actually almost gained what lost before I wrote the post to begin with.

@Player_8tdssoqv While having the ability to shrug off toxic comments help; not having to hear or read them is so much better in my opinion because you can focus more on the game, and less on what someone else thinks about it.

As for the forums purpose, its main goal is for players to help other players. While the boards for general and weapon/loot feedback, (to my knowledge), often gets reviewed and passed on to Respawn.

I remember threads such as players asking for a better firing range, and then we got one, and there's also been threads about people asking for a Loba buff, (where her ULT could be used to pull banner cards), and now her ULT can do that, (which is awesome, as it doesn't use an item slot, and anyone on the team can pull the cards).

@apexskinsblow Reporting may seem pointless, (and I've felt that way a few times myself), but it does work. It only seems like it doesn't, because its an endless cat and mouse cycle, where with each banned cheater, there's another account being made.

@JamieFameFlame That's awesome to hear! I'm glad you've been finding success with the filter turned on.
