Tap strife got nerfed to the ground. I guess it's time to leave the game.

After a huge decline in players through the whole 2024. now they decide to nerf tap strafe into oblivion and drive away even more players. 

If it wasn't hard enough for mnk players they decided to put the final nail in the coffin and remove the only thing we had, the only thing that was still fun in this game.

I understand the need to end scripts and abusers, but this is a huge nerf to all of us who used tap strafe in a normal way.

I guess it's time to say goodbye after playing the game since day 1, there were some horrible changes, but this is just too much...

  • @EA_Mako What garbage. Oh well for taking risks... any meaningful risks that is.

    It's so much easier to wall bounce with jump bound to a scroll wheel to. Like build it into the game if you're going to have it. Why do they refuse to do that?! I don't want a bunch of double bindings just to do simple movement tech. Fix the game!

    @r1ggedgame I agree. I've said all along that, since MnK and Switch joy con are the only two inputs that can tap strafe, they both need their own lobbies and not be playing with regular controller players.

    I wish they would fix the server issues, and do a relaunch of the game with all of the problems that started in season 20 fixed, advertise the heck out of it to get all the players back that left, and open up with brand new separate input lobbies. Even dividing Algs into separate divisions for these different input lobbies (as well as ranked) may be a good idea.
  • There is so much missconseptions around input, for the people who was a substantial amount of hours on both major input systems will know that if you remove this movement from MnK its the same as removing MnK from the game.

    Note to controller players who is not able to shoot while they do misc movement, learn claw or get backside buttons to your controller and own lobbies.... That is a requirement at higher matchmaking anyhow, its not that hard to actually gobsmack someone who tapstrafe, it can be a bit harder with neostrafe but adding your own counter movement makes it a whole lot easier as aiming when doing neostrafing is insanely hard (not talking about automated or semi automated neo which is cheating).

    Some stuff need to be understood, MnK cant utterly gobsmack 100% presision anyone in close combat like you can with controller (that was one of my first revelations when I moved input methods as I had the general idea that MnK was superior at the time), when I was running high fps controller I could do 100% presision one clips easilly when doing close combat (even against people tapstrafing), while with MnK im strugling hard to do so, so I have to rely on movement to buy time for a weapon swap or reload (im talking about decent players not standing still and bending over), and I got roughly 2K hours on MnK and 1K on controller, only thing thats evening the field somewhat in mixed lobbies is the fact that I can do movement techniques across other players to fool aim assist to spread the hits somewhat to perhaps survive one reload or a weapon swap (and there is still no guarantee for that), and now im talking about the lobbies I am playing.

    They nerfed start movement boosting or what its called, so any chaining based movement was gone, even running without a weapon didnt have more speed then running with a weapon so event the legends who had initiate running speed with shotguns or skills that boosted said weapon running speed didnt work yesterday either, neither in ranked, nor pubs. Sheeting weapon one step slides was not even possible which is one of the very basic movements you need to have to survive boosting through a door or changing cover or the like when someone is ready for you (not botlobbies). Everything was hard busted yesterday.

    At our esport club even the controller players struggled with some of the basics like what I explained above, the positive thing is the sopha gamer had a blast I would presume as 50 vs 1000 hours on basic skills based performance (not tactics) didnt matter at all yesterday.

    Idd tell you that MnK players wish just as much to get rid of the controller players in their lobbies as controller players want to get rid of the MnK since from any side its hard as $#%& whatever you play but its easy to blame the input method, but when you remove the strenghts from one and not the other it gets 100% unplayable. Yesterday you can imagine if they had the game original and just removed aim assist, what would that do to controllers that is 100% the same thing. You can see this in CoD where controller is hard meta and MnK is for the S&M crew wanting to be farmed hard.

    The nerf ment to target macro based movement and not skill based movement but everything was affected. I am all for movement to work but ONLY when its not macroed or scripted, if someone does that crap manually with their own skill, darn cudos ill even applaud getting killed by them because that means tons of hours dedicated to learning just that single thing. But macro based crap - nope that * me off as its cheating by the definition of the aula and by the definition of esports as its not the person doing it its automation or semi automation so no respect given at all, only good old vile.

    Just my 5 cents worth to the discussion. Apex got a lot of issues they need to fix but removing the pure defining traits of the game that seperate it from other BR games is not the fix needed 😉

    I play MnK and don't use tap strafe... it's a silly movement that shouldn't be in the game period. No other game I know of has this silly movement. If this silly movement needs to be part of the game, it should be available as a keybind just like any other movement and available to all players regardless of input type. If you complain about controller AA being unfair to MnK, just nerf AA more. It's a very simple problem to solve. EA doesn't have the guts to solve it though as their recent rollback proved. People have gotten used to cheating which is a huge problem with the player base. They should have the guts to level the playing field period. 

    Also this idea of having different lobbies based on platform, also dumb. This challenge between platforms has been solved a long time ago in the gaming industry. Cross platform is available in many games. EA needs to figure it out.

    @c0ld1 thing is, they should have removed it when ppl found out about it and not after 5 years ... same applies to so much crap still not addressed ...

    @r1ggedgame Again, simple problem to solve, make it a keybind and controller option and be done with it. Move on to other important things...
