It really makes me wonder if parents even bother to teach kids basic manners anymore, or why else would anyone even have to ask this question?
Essentially, keep your communication to basic in-game situations. Don't let your frustration get the better of you. And don't let anyone else's toxicity drive you into a state of "they said it so I can say it too." Anyone you play with could at any time have their voice-to-text turned on and be able to provide proof of anything you say. Keep it polite. Keep it constructive. Don't say anything you wouldn't say to your own grandmother.

@reconzero This is excellent advice. I had a situation in a gun run tonight where a toxic player kept harassing me in chats. I almost got angry and lashed out, but instead I reported the player for inappropriate chats. Hopefully the game will take the appropriate actions. Sometimes it's tough, but you just have to force yourself to not say anything back, and report them to the game instead of "taking the law into your own hands."
