Is this based on the skill of teams in the game? If so its an absolute fraud.
Why am I constantly in a team at the bottom of the curve? I am being paired with people that cannot play the game. I have played 30 games, haven't won a single one and my highest finish is top 5. Is this what this season is gonna be?
I'm telling you now, I am this close to dropping Apex for good. If the games don't improve fast then I'm done.

Agreed. They're not showing you the span of skill of every player in the game, only the span of team averages. I've had matches where my squad average puts Ius in the middle of the pack, but that was only because teammate #1 was a master, and teammate #2 was "new" to the game, hence the center-of-curve average. In reality it was player #2's account that was new to the game. He played like a pro and the two of them, without any help from me, vaporized three consecutive squads. Then they found the fourth and got vaporized themselves.
So no, don't take the data too seriously. There are far too many players in this game who make it their mission in life to lie to the matchmaker about their abilities.
Graphs mean nothing if no info is given. What information are they actually giving us I wonder. Could be a number of things. Please show us you don't mean to insult our intelligence and explain the data you show! wtf
Matchmaking for solo players has never worked in this game. Solo players have always been in a bad position throughout the lobby when playing against 3-stacks.
I do also find the match making pretty bizarre sometimes. I have been playing since day 0. I was paired with absolute noobs a few times. I was asked questions like "What do you mean thirst your kill?" and "What's an EVO-Harvester?". Just... how?
Yeah, I've played a bit more and I am starting to find the ranking does not really seem to indicate what is going on. I've been total top squad a few times and got smashed, had a few where I was quite lowly ranked and did... ok including a win. So I'm not sure what to make of it.
I do appreciate the transparency with it though.

The curve isn't lying. But also, it isn't telling you the whole truth. Far from it. I'm pretty sure the range it shows (the grey area) is the range of the averages of each team. Meaning that there will be many individual players who are well outside that range. We already know this game likes to compose a team of one experienced player, one moderately experienced player, and one new player. These distribution curves are showing you exactly that if you learn how to interpret them. So no, the curve doesn't change the way things have always been done. It actually corroborates it. This game actively screws experienced solo queue players. It always has. Now we just have a new way to see it in action.
I've been towards the top of the curve most of my games so far and gotten absolutely steamrolled almost every time. Maybe that's just a function of the shorter TTK, but I feel like that curve is just BS. It's a sugar pill to make you think that actual matchmaking is taking place but it isn't.

I like the fact they are showing you the distribution of players based on skill in a match in pubs. That's great for transparency. The downside is I'm usually in the bottom 25% and the gameplay shows it. I'm just dead instantly over and over. Just tried again. 2 games, 0 kills and just instant death as soon as someone sees me. Gave up at that point.
It's always rough at the beginning of a season but why am I always near the bottom on the skill rank? What is the point in putting me in lobbies where I will be destroyed over and over?
