Hacked and banned

Good day! I got my steam account hacked about a few months ago and i just recently got it back when i checked to see if everything was ok, it wasn't they purchased over $500 but that's not the only thing my apex account is BANNED!!!, I tried contacting EA and gave them proof of my EA data but they still didn't lift my ban all they said was "we determined that we took the correct action in accordance with EA policies and procedures". i also contacted live chat and all they said was wait for an email but I don't know if i already got it or not. I don't even know what to say, I don't even know what to do, my friend also experienced the same thing but he got his account, back but how about me? nope. when i tried to contact them again the only contact option was to call, so i don't have a chance to email them anymore? and last time i checked i wasn't even masters when i left my account i was level 141 and gold 4 now i have a 4k and 20kill badge on pathy and level 278 or something.

Sincerely, mythisbackboiz

  • Hi @Mythisbackboiz

I'm so sorry, we can't look into the suspicious activity or the ban for you from the forums. Please follow these steps to help re-secure your account. There may be some steps there that can't be completed while the ban is in place but that's ok, the ban itself will limit any activity on the account so nothing further can take place on the account while the ban is live and the remaining steps can be completed if the ban is overturned.

I'll add some recommendations and tips to help best protect your account going forward. Please click on the spoiler tag to expand and view them.

    In terms of account security:
Keep your email address up to date so you can always get your codes to log in.
Reset your EA Account password - Choose a strong, unique password for the EA account that uses a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters.
    • Turn on Login Verification - Go to your EA Account Security settings and under Login Verification, clicking Turn on. This will send you a code to confirm your identity when a new device tries to log in to your EA Account. in the Security settings, click View by Backup Codes and write them down and keep them in a safe place so you’ll always be able to log in when you need to in the event you can't receive your login codes!!
    • Make sure to take advantage of the security settings available for the connected accounts linked up to the EA account also. Examples of connected accounts include the email address registered, accounts such as Steam, Amazon and Twitch, Console accounts (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc) and mobile accounts (Apple ID, Google Play) and Social Media accounts (Facebook).

    Good online practices include:
    • Logging out of any devices you share with others once you're finished or if you are leaving your own device unattended for any length of time.
    • Making sure to not to share your account information or security details with others.
    • Never revealing your account password with anyone!! Note: our support team will never ask you to share that information with us.
    • Never click unknown links from untrusted sources.
    • Only enter your EA account details into official EA websites.
    • Be aware of fake give-away's surveys or support teams. On Social Media official EA accounts will be marked with a ✔️ by their name so look out for those ticks. If unsure, you can always ask us here on Answers HQ, on help.ea.com or by reaching out to our EA Help Twitter Support team.

In terms of the ban itself, the only team who can investigate and discuss this with you is our Terms of Service team. To connect with the Terms of Service team, you need to send in a webform. I am sorry to hear that your account got banned.
Here on the forum we really cannot help you out with account Bans except for providing some advice.

If you think your account was compromised or hacked and this lead to your Ban you should contact EA support.
If you think that you were unfairly Banned or would like to appeal you Ban you will have to reach out to the Terms of Service team (ToS).

Please note that you are responsible for your account and if you let someone else use your account and they violate the ToS you are responsible for the violation and may have to suffer the consequences.
Make sure to secure your account and enable 2 factor ID.

Lastly learn from your mistakes and do not repeat them.

I really hope that the advice is helpful and wish you the best of luck with your account.
