My feeling is that the pressure to drive revenue within the org must be pretty strong. I don't get the impression that any of these franchises are really built for the long term. It seems more like once you get a successful property its a pump & dump to squeeze whatever revenue you can out of it, as fast as you can, because your racing against the new sexy that isn't out yet, but you know is coming. That being said, I would be surprised to see any significant improvement in infrastructure (since every $ spent is one you could be reporting as profit)... and since the player base is pretty flat right now and appears to be slightly declining I'm not sure how you make that case to management. I mean.. I hope it comes true.... I'd love to be wrong.
And if you want a case study on how declining platforms are handled.. just look at where Titanfall is right now and how much time and $$ is being invested in that property.
I do think there is still plenty of life (potentially) in the game particularly as it traverses between the Titanfall universe.
