High Cpu and ram usage

My game uses almost 100% of my cpu and ram.
Specs:
cpu ryzen 5600x
3600mhz 16gb ram
gpu rtx 3060
msi mag tomahawk x570 mobo
Apex will instantly spike my cpu usage to 100% and the game itself will use around 70-90% of my cpu.
Im an active player and this hasn't been issue until recently. The problem doesn't occur on other games (some being more cpu demanding).
In-game problems include stuttering/freezing momentarily. Game will come to a full freeze/feels like it will crash. Fps is still at fairly stable 120. 

Fixes I have tried already are:
Reinstalling game
Gpu driver update
cpu/mobo driver updates
clearing games cache on both steam and ea app.
playing around with settings lowest possible, middleground, nvidia app lowest setting and "optimized settings"
None of these fixes have helped. Asked my friend who has the same cpu to try if he has the same issue and he does. 

Is a ryzen 5600x too weak to run apex suddenly or does the game have a problem? 
Any other solutions for a fix are greatly appreciated since apex is my favourite game.
