i cant believe it takes so much time to fix it? no way
they won't fix it
☹️ 2 weeks later no fix. I wonder how many non-tech literate people are blowing up their CPUs right now forcing themselves through the lag.
- 4 years ago@HeIena Even for tech literate people, if there is no patch, nobody can make it better, since most "fixes" won't fix nothing.
If you limit your number of threads, you will overload these if your config is limited and if you don't limit these threads, you might overload your CPU because of the bug. - 4 years ago@HeIena Yup its terrible I can usally play arenas without it going crazy. But i can only do it for half hour. I use hardware info to keep mionitoring but its terrible. SO many people make posts thinking that its server issue.
If it's not a server issue then what is causing the problems then with the high latency & packet-loss then?.Just out of interest what is does your hardware info monitor or report?..It took a while but game devs/insiders did admit on social media & to Youtubers about server issues so how can it not be.The fact that any attempts to fix/patch the existing servers hasn't really work & could be just down to the fact the servers are coming the the end of their life cycle with wear & tear.(I don't have a clue what the life span of a server is).
Apex plays on servers with the lowest Tick-Rate (20Hz) of all the multiplayer shooters. For anyone unaware what Tick-Rate is (I did have to look it up a few times in the past) it is the frequency (in Hz) with which a server updates game with data per second. With Apex operating with a low Tick Rating of 20Hz it means the 20 pieces of data passes the server per second with the data being general movement, shooting & general interaction. Then take games PUBG & Overwatch that operate at around 60Hz thats 60 pieces of data passing through their servers per second. The lower the Tick-Rate a game operates the less responsive a game can feel & play such as slower reaction times or the feel of shots missing targets etc but also things such as Net-Code & Pack Loss can be more problematic in a game as well. But games that play on servers with high Tick-Rates such as Valorant (128Hz) can be problematic for players that don't have TV's or monitors that operate or handle that frequency. If some playing Valorant is playing on a 50Hz TV then the game can suffer stuttering & screen cutting problems.

When are they gonna fix this? do we have to wait until Season 10 for this issue to be fixed?
I hope not. It's been nearly 3 weeks! 😞
- 4 years agoSomehow, it got better for me, but I had to mess big time with my potato.
One thing is I think that the lastest patch is more demanding on CPU per default. Not like "unnecessary demanding", I guess they included some new things that improves a lot the lag compensation (I only got hit around corners once in a 5h today, that's a win).
But then, there are a lot of things that seems to need constant checks by antivirus.
I had to deactivate my protection for the time playing (so I really need to be confident with the servers not contaminating me with some remnants from the hacks, I guess...)
I also improved things by improving virtual memory (click right on computer, select properties/advanced/performance/ select your Virtual Memory adequately, on a SSD. Some SSD drives manufacturers have software doing this even more efficiently).
Also, I updated my drivers for the latest, then in launch settings, I added -dxlevel 120 (which allows to run direct X 12). This was a great addition.
I still had many code:net with violent lags at time, but mostly when maps changed (so maybe is it associated with preloads?).
If you have dedicated Graphic Card (I don't), maybe try to set the stream budget one rank lower that your build in memory allow.
But I guess the DX12 is one key of the solution.
It was so "fluid" that today I was pretty much on a killing spree, compared to my usual botched playing. - 4 years ago

Respawn mostly hotfixes an issue on the next update so if the next update is Season 10, then we got no choice but to play on 100% cpu just to rank up or stay on gold. winkwink

I suspect with literally two weeks until season 10 there won't be any patch fixes for season 9 other than a few empty words & a few 'investigations'..I pity the players trying to grind out completion of the Battle-Pass with the performance hindrances to contend with on a regular basis. What season 9 taught me if anything is to never buy a Battle-Pass at the start of a season but instead wait until a least half-way through & evaluate my current level & whether completing the Bttle-Pass is achievable without becoming a slog/chore or even with the knowledge that the game maybe unplayable again.
- 4 years ago@Snowe_asuka the hotfix for the issue is coming very soon according to EA Help, here's what they say: https://twitter.com/EAHelp/status/1416669234264895491
- 4 years ago
@NoJamBros21It doesnt seem like EA Help is speaking about the same issue. I just forced my way through a few matches to get that Rampart skin and quit immediately because I almost threw up my lunch with how bad the freezing and stuttering is.
Also it IS NOT A CONNECTION ISSUE. This is on their end as we have come to the conclusion time and time again. So that tweet is not speaking on this issue. It is an optimization issue due to load in times and how processing times work.EDIT: Some folks have said a fast SSD has helped them with this issue, others say it hasn't. Still the only solution I have found is to play on a current gen console ( Series S or X) which shouldn't be the only solution but sadly is at the moment.
- 4 years ago@illnastyone I tried grinding out about 6 games on Arenas to get a few of the Thrillseekers awards & the constant stuttering & freezing was an absolute disgrace. The freezing mainly occurred when firing at an enemy who is literally metres away then no hit damage recognition occurs then the game unfreezes with the enemy having dropped me or disappeared out of sight to reheal. The performance issues make playing the game turn into some sort of handicap mode giving the enemy clear advantage.Of the 6 games I played in Arenas 3 x 3 three of the matches I had to play as a duo against a trio of enemies which for me should never be allowed to happen in that mode. The game should wait until the teams are properly filled & not start on some rigid/inflexible timeline.
I do wonder if in season 10 we will get to a next gen upgrade.for the PS5 & Xbox.through. - 4 years ago@Redmattgame yea it has been rough man. I really wanted Ramparts skins but it was so tough to even play due to the non stop stutters even in Areans now, which it never used to be an issue. It almost seems like the more they patch the game the more it breaks for us last gen folks.
I havent had the disappearing enemies yet, but my friend took video of it happening to him and he is on Xbox One X. Which is still a dated console, but it should be optimized for us regardless. I really miss season zero at this point. - 4 years ago

wow surprise surprise

If Respawn actually provides the solution I will be shocked (lets face it.. they are like 99% focused on new skins for season 10 right about now and the other 1% is the intern getting the skins team donuts). But somewhere out there in the night, a lone hero is working on the problem, and when all hope appears lost they will appear.

Cause that's what heroes do.

Unfortunately, I'm still getting 100% CPU usage even after the update
- 4 years ago@arrecebia I've only played a few games of Arenas & a brief play on training mode & I've still been experiencing lag-spikes & stuttering issues .I'd Give it 1-2 days & see if it works after that as that was previous life span of the previous patches.
- 4 years ago@arrecebia Doesn't look like it .
There is no mention of it in patch notes.

And its still under investigation in their tracker

where they work on stuttering in the game?
they can't fix it for unknown how long and they won't fix it, since season 7 a lot of people have had a problem with it ...
to all apex legends pc players, I repeat again, there were a lot of posts on reddit, other sites about this problem, and not only nobody was interested in it and nobody fixed it, besides I am giving you a link from the official source that they were to fix this and what???? they did * about it https://twitter.com/alphaintel/status/1405671217131044869

There was some update today and after that I experienced this issue
- 4 years ago
this problem has been around for several seasons, they promised that they would fix nothing, there are a lot of topics about it on reddit or other sites, just get inspired, and I tell you for the last time that they won't fix it, the stuttering problem occurs in many people in this game , I have RTX 2070 Ryzen 5 3600 3200mhz ram 144hz fps monitor I have nothing falling down, and since the 7th season I can't play this game because I have stuttering and my fps is not dropping, I don't have the strength to play this game, I wish you good luck with idiots who do nothing with this game are just counting on money
