1050 TI or 1060 just isn't enough for 2042

A topic relating the recommended minimum stats is that DICE recommends the minimum GPU as being a GTX 1050 TI. I have a GTX 1060 SC 6GB (Paired with a Ryzen 5 5600X at 4.3GHz), and I can hardly breach 40 FPS on low graphics at 1080p. I locked my FPS to 30 to keep my visual performance at a smooth, constant rate. One of my other friends has a GTX 1070, and even he had FPS problems. I personally think the minimum GPU should be raised from the 1050 TI to the GTX 1080 TI, or maybe even the GTX 1660 TI. Perhaps the 1060 worked fine in the alpha, and from videos I've seen, that is the case, but with the much improved beta, it's just not powerful enough.

P.S.: No my card is not thermal throttling or being underclocked. It's at a constant 2050MHz while remaining under 70C.

  • What you experienced is an older version of the game. General release (and subsequent) will very likely have marked improvement in graphics.

  • @IDawgPhanThey will absolutely make it hit 60 fps with 1050 ti on low settings and 1080p.
Anything less and they are in danger of nuking their PC player population. Especially right now with the current CPU prices.

I went out of my way to get a PC with a 5800X CPU to at least negate CPU bottlenecks. BF since BFV is very CPU intense and all the cores it can get.

I have a 1060 6gb card and never dipped below 60fps in the beta. My resolution was 1080p, all setting low, with dynamic resolution scaling enabled.

    My fps stayed between 70-100fps.

Most people having low fps issues in the beta was probably due to CPU bottlenecks from a single CPU core maxing out. Though that shouldn't have been happening with a Ryzen 5600x, but it probably was none the less.

Everyone is so quick to blame the video card for fps drops without checking their per core CPU usage.

  • I would like to think dice have made lots of optimisations because I saw nothing while playing the game that warranted such specs.

I thought the game didn’t look any better than bf v or even battlefield 1

  • @OskooI_007A 5600x is not going to max out on any cores with battlefield 2042.
My i7 10700 only peaked at 40 percent usage and no cores at all got even close to 100 percent
