128p Conquest, AOW Experience, & Vehicle Gameplay Ruined!
I'm going to start with the Facts/Evidence
Update 4.0 First vehicle reduction/balance changes
- Reduction in Armored and Attack vehicle slots makes it near impossible to obtain. This causes more people to sit at spawn screen and spamming left mouse button in a chance to get into a tank/heli/jet.
Update 4.1 Second vehicle reduction/balance changes
- Reduction in Armored and Attack vehicle slots further increases the issues from the first vehicle balance changes... Again more people are sitting in spawn screen wanting their chance to jump into 1 or 2 boltes/tank/AA/aircraft per team of 64 in a server of 128 players
- There are more light vehicles than armored vehicles or aircraft and yet this category of vehicle slot is almost always available. This shows no one is interested in spawning into a hovercraft or latv4 and waists these vehicle slots. In turn causes less vehicles on the map and a more boring/bland All out warfare experience.
- average of a minimum of 5min to get into an armored/aircraft slot on a good day... unless someone else mashes the LT mouse button faster than you
This game/mode was advertised to be a 128 player all out warfare combined arms chaotic experience and now its turned into a bland and boring infantry only type mode with crickets chirping on most of the map with little to no action. You have basically changed the game than what it was advertised for and what people including myself bought the game for. The AOW conquest mode was so much more fun prior to the 4.0 vehicle changes. The removed of 128 breakthrough is another example of false advertisement for AOW experience
The issues that were brought up of vehicle dominance and infantry getting slaughtered wasn't due to a large vehicle count. But due to poor vehicle balance and most importantly lack of cover on these barren maps. The players who don't like vehicles already have an infantry only conquest mode in portal. So why are you changing the one mode that makes up the true battlefield experience into another infantry only run and gun, Call of duty type shooter..!?
Solution
1. Add more cover to maps (seems this has already begun to be implemented)
2. increase armored/aircraft slots and reduce light vehicle slots. Put the bolte into its own category of medium armored, separate MAV from hind/condor. Separate jets from helicopters
Example Hourglass has total of 16 vehicle slots per team
2 Jets per team
2 Boltes per team
2 Helis (Attack chopper/night bird) per team
2 Condor/ Hind per team
5 Armored slots per team (Tank, wildcat, MAV)
3 light vehicle slots per team (hovercraft/latv4)
This should be the standard layout and tweaked depending on map type. Urban vs Rural areas
Example Manifest has a total of 13 vehicle slots per team
1 Jet per team
2 boltes per team
2 Helis per team
2 Condor/hind per team
4 Armored slots per team (Tank, wildcat, MAV)
2 light vehicle slots per team (Hovercraft/latv4)
Example Discarded has a total of 15 vehicle slots per team
2 Jets per team
2 Boltes per team
2 Helis (Attack chopper/night bird) per team
2 Condor/ Hind per team
4 Armored slots per team (Tank, wildcat, MAV)
3 light vehicle slots per team (hovercraft/latv4)
