I started with BF3 and played all that came after. For me most deviations from the heights of BF3 (and BF4 after the fixes) are grounds to deduct points for. BF1 deviated a lot but managed to stay fun in its unique way. BFV doubled down on the deviations of BF1 and made more mistakes (Battle royale focus and live service among them), BF2042 continued most of the mistakes of BFV and added more to the pile with the specialists. BF Hardline is a BF4 mod that should had been DLC and not a standalone game.
I wouldn’t put it last.
I just wouldn’t put it on the list at all.
Hell even Hardline was a good execution of a divergent game style deserving of the BF name.
With server browser and squad community aspects introduced , bf2042 it might come top (even with specialists), but as it is, with its identity crisis. Nah, wouldn’t even recommend it.
