2020 - Question to EA DICE Criterion Ripple effect

How did you lot manage ?? I mean 2020 the world basically stopped right ? As it still pritty much had at the beginning of 2021 and during ….

Most of everywhere was lockeddown for quite some time , just wondering how this effected you lot at the peak of its development, as a whole , how you adapted and managed , how it effected progress and so on

i mean a lot of us are forgetting this, right …

@SillyCyb the hate is coming from a game stripped of core BF mechanics and features that have been around for a long time. Then they changed it with 2042 which was not ready to be released. So people feel like they paid for a game to be a beta tester.

In a business, if you make big changes, you better have your ducks in a row. Ea/Dice did not and they do not get to make an excuse or get a pass because they always do this covid or no covid.

@SillyCyb Covid is an excuse. Did you go hungry? apparently not because you are here. So that means someone was still making and delivering your food. Nah thats no excuse

Not saying it’s an excuse , for certain businesses it was a different story , we couldn’t go out unless it were essential and so on not saying we were imprisoned - I’m just genuinely curious at how they had to work during the peak of the pandemic

as I’ve already said before this game released with a similar amount of bugs as BF4 no virus then , I mean i couldn’t ever play dawnbreaker on the 360 , point there’s no real difference in bug to that release….
But I can understand how they’d be more than the usual ! I just don’t get where most of the hate is coming from is all without not considering where the last 2 years have been , I’m starting to see what kind of person you would have to be to forget it

@ghinavirus Yeah I would say game developement seems pretty straight forward to do from home.

They kept talking about there beeing a lockdown, but I really didn't notice much difference from before. Nothing really shut down where I live except for nightclubs and resturants. 99% of people still went to work every day.

Yeah I understand the legacy stuff…,I’m sure they’ll put features like that back , still no excuse for the hate
Despite being gutted about all that too trust me.
You never know though how such things impact certain decision making..

@SillyCyb I think they scrapped a BR game and had less than 18 months to have what we have now. Ripple Effect did Portal in 12 months. Why not 3 years or even 2 years? Thats because they didnt know until likely right when they started. its why EA started pulling other studios into BF and marketed as look what we are doing.

This game went the Anthem route.

Deadlines , if hands are in other pies it’s hard to channel in all what you originally wanted to I guess with the timeframe you’ve been given…
I’m use to getting content gradually I like how they work that , they need supporting still though so they can meet expectations, so hate still doesn’t help
down to poor management , am just saying outcomes could of been different had there been no virus at all…

@SillyCyb if covid is their excuse then it should of been delayed. Poor management and greed is exactly what we call 2042 and it clearly shows.

I don’t think they looking for an excuse it’s me just trying to ease the negative weight off of them…
i woulda been cool to wait another year or so at the same time don’t think financially they could of waited any longer , again without not knowing how virus impacted certain decision
It certainly isn’t unplayable And I am enjoying it ,all bad stuff aside. I was just curious
